From policy to action

AnchorTO, in partnership with SENCO, is collaborating to address the social and economic impact of COVID-19 on local and equity-deserving communities by developing ways to leverage the economic power of anchor institutions. AnchorTO is a network of public sector institutions in Toronto focused on addressing the pandemic’s socio-economic impact through the use of procurement, community investment and workforce inclusion.

Future Skills Centre is investing $152,400 in this 2-year project. This initiative will engage anchor institutions and diversely owned and social purpose businesses to design, prototype and launch tools and infrastructure that create pathways to procurement opportunities in the public sector. The project will also develop educational materials to enhance the capacity of businesses in navigating the public sector procurement process.
