Dr. Cassandra Bowkett is currently employed as a full time post-doctoral researcher on a project funded by the Ryerson Future Skills Centre looking at the impact of emerging technologies on the future skill needs of the aerospace sector in Canada. She completed her PhD research at Cardiff University. Her PhD research focused on the role of aerospace multinationals in the UK and Australia in shaping skill development for professional engineers, and the broader skill system. An important part of her project was exploring how the skill formation systems and public policy initiatives were utilised by firms to generate the skills they need. Her research interests include cross-national and comparative research in labour relations, skill formation and skill systems and talent management.
