Antonius Schröder is a senior researcher at Technische Universität Dortmund and member of the management board of Sozialforschungsstelle sfs (central scientific unit of the University of Dortmund), responsible for international research. He is co-editor of the Atlas of Social Innovation and was the coordinator of the European funded 7th Framework large scale project SI-DRIVE – Social Innovation: Driving Force of Social Change. He has worked in and managed several European projects (mainly in the Lifelong Learning and Erasmus+ Programme). Recently he is the coordinator of two large scale projects funded by EU Erasmus+ under the EU flagship initiative New Skills Agenda: The European Steel Skills Agenda (ESSA) and the Skills Alliance for Industrial Symbiosis – A Cross-sectoral Blueprint for a Sustainable Process Industry (SPIRE-SAIS). These projects encompass 24 partners each from different areas (policy, social partners, companies, training and research institutions). He is Vice-Chairman of Focus Group People within the European Steel Technology Platform ESTEP and Chair of the senate of the German Sociologists Association BDS.
