has-text-color\">L&#8217;apprentissage automatique (AA), sous-domaine de l&#8217;intelligence artificielle en pleine expansion, transforme profond\u00e9ment les dynamiques de l&#8217;ensemble du march\u00e9 du travail canadien. L&#8217;apprentissage automatique (AA) permet d&#8217;automatiser et d&#8217;optimiser un vaste \u00e9ventail de t\u00e2ches professionnelles, y compris des fonctions cognitives non r\u00e9p\u00e9titives comme l&#8217;apprentissage, la pr\u00e9diction et la r\u00e9solution de probl\u00e8mes. Cela marque un v\u00e9ritable tournant technologique dont les implications vont bien au-del\u00e0 des technologies d&#8217;automatisation existantes. Il est essentiel de d\u00e9terminer qui est le plus expos\u00e9 \u00e0 ces changements pour \u00e9laborer des politiques efficaces et inclusives en mati\u00e8re de comp\u00e9tences et de main-d&#8217;\u0153uvre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En partenariat avec l&#8217;Institut de recherche sur le travail et la sant\u00e9 (IWH), le Centre des Comp\u00e9tences futures a appuy\u00e9 une \u00e9tude visant \u00e0 \u00e9valuer le degr\u00e9 d&#8217;exposition des professions et des travailleurs canadiens \u00e0 l&#8217;apprentissage automatique. S&#8217;appuyant sur les donn\u00e9es de l&#8217;Enqu\u00eate sur la population active (EPA) nationale et sur une mesure in\u00e9dite de l&#8217;ad\u00e9quation des professions \u00e0 l&#8217;apprentissage automatique, l&#8217;\u00e9tude estime le degr\u00e9 d&#8217;exposition \u00e0 l&#8217;AA selon les diff\u00e9rents corps de m\u00e9tiers. Elle analyse \u00e9galement comment cette exposition varie en fonction du genre, de la scolarit\u00e9, de la r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration et des comp\u00e9tences requises pour l&#8217;emploi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats mettent en \u00e9vidence une g\u00e9n\u00e9ralisation de l&#8217;exposition \u00e0 l&#8217;AA sur l&#8217;ensemble du march\u00e9 du travail. Presque tous les m\u00e9tiers au Canada comportent au moins quelques t\u00e2ches qui se pr\u00eatent \u00e0 l&#8217;apprentissage automatique. Quelque 1,9 million de travailleurs, soit environ 12 % de la population active canadienne, exercent des professions caract\u00e9ris\u00e9es par une forte exposition \u00e0 l&#8217;AA. Moins de 5 % exercent des professions \u00e0 faible exposition. Ces r\u00e9sultats mettent en \u00e9vidence que l\u2019AA est susceptible d\u2019avoir des r\u00e9percussions sur un vaste bassin d\u2019emplois, et non plus uniquement sur les professions traditionnellement jug\u00e9es vuln\u00e9rables \u00e0 l\u2019automatisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La r\u00e9partition de l\u2019exposition \u00e0 l\u2019AA est in\u00e9gale et pr\u00e9sente une dimension sexosp\u00e9cifique. Les femmes repr\u00e9sentent pr\u00e8s des deux tiers des effectifs au sein des professions fortement expos\u00e9es \u00e0 l&#8217;AA, ce qui t\u00e9moigne d&#8217;une s\u00e9gr\u00e9gation professionnelle persistante et de disparit\u00e9s dans la r\u00e9partition des t\u00e2ches. Les travailleurs occupant des professions aux salaires et aux niveaux de qualification plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement moins susceptibles d\u2019afficher une forte exposition \u00e0 l&#8217;AA, bien que ces corr\u00e9lations varient selon le genre. Il est \u00e0 noter que les femmes ayant un niveau d&#8217;\u00e9tudes sup\u00e9rieur et occupant des r\u00f4les de cadres ou de professionnels hautement qualifi\u00e9s ont tendance \u00e0 travailler dans des secteurs moins expos\u00e9s \u00e0 l&#8217;apprentissage automatique (AA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Dans l&#8217;ensemble, les conclusions de l&#8217;\u00e9tude indiquent que l&#8217;apprentissage automatique pourrait creuser les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s existantes sur le march\u00e9 du travail, tout en red\u00e9finissant la nature des professions hautement qualifi\u00e9es. L&#8217;exposition \u00e0 l&#8217;AA n&#8217;est pas synonyme de pertes d&#8217;emplois; elle met plut\u00f4t en relief les secteurs o\u00f9 la nature du travail est la plus susceptible de se transformer. Ces constats mettent en relief l\u2019importance de d\u00e9ployer des strat\u00e9gies de comp\u00e9tences proactives et inclusives. Celles-ci doivent aider la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre, particuli\u00e8rement les personnes occupant les r\u00f4les les plus expos\u00e9s, \u00e0 s\u2019adapter, \u00e0 acqu\u00e9rir des comp\u00e9tences proprement humaines et compl\u00e9mentaires, et \u00e0 tirer parti de l\u2019adoption des technologies de l\u2019IA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group key-insights-grey has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"background-color:#0000000d\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Perspectives cl\u00e9s<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default is-flex\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-243230\" style=\"width: 40px;margin-right: 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/No.svg\" alt=\"\">Pr\u00e8s de 1,9 million de Canadiens exercent des professions o\u00f9 une grande part des t\u00e2ches se pr\u00eate \u00e0 l&#8217;apprentissage automatique, ce qui indique que l&#8217;exposition potentielle du march\u00e9 de l&#8217;emploi \u00e0 des mutations guid\u00e9es par l&#8217;AA est consid\u00e9rable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-flex\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-243230\" style=\"width: 40px; margin-right: 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/No-1.svg\" alt=\"\">Les femmes ainsi que les travailleurs occupant des professions moins r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9es et \u00e0 faible niveau de qualification sont plus susceptibles d&#8217;occuper des r\u00f4les fortement expos\u00e9s \u00e0 l&#8217;AA, ce qui tend \u00e0 renforcer les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s existantes sur le march\u00e9 du travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-flex\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-243230\" style=\"width: 40px; margin-right: 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/No-2.svg\" alt=\"\">Un niveau de scolarit\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieur, une r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration \u00e9lev\u00e9e et des exigences de comp\u00e9tences accrues sont corr\u00e9l\u00e9s \u00e0 une plus faible exposition \u00e0 l&#8217;apprentissage automatique. L&#8217;apprentissage automatique (AA) d\u00e9signe l&#8217;utilisation d&#8217;algorithmes statistiques appliqu\u00e9s \u00e0 de grands volumes de donn\u00e9es structur\u00e9es et non structur\u00e9es, afin d&#8217;y d\u00e9celer des r\u00e9currences et de formuler des pr\u00e9dictions. Les organisations int\u00e8grent ces technologies afin de stimuler l\u2019innovation, d&#8217;automatiser des t\u00e2ches et d\u2019accro\u00eetre la productivit\u00e9. Toutefois, les r\u00e9percussions de l\u2019adoption de l\u2019AA sont loin d\u2019\u00eatre uniformes. Les divergences sur le plan de la structure sectorielle, de la nature des t\u00e2ches, du genre et d\u2019autres facteurs sociod\u00e9mographiques influencent la mani\u00e8re dont s\u2019\u00e9tablit cette exposition, et d\u00e9terminent si elle se traduira par un risque ou une occasion \u00e0 saisir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si le corpus de recherche actuel s\u2019int\u00e9resse principalement aux effets des donn\u00e9es agr\u00e9g\u00e9es de l\u2019IA et de l\u2019automatisation sur le march\u00e9 de l\u2019emploi, rares sont les \u00e9tudes qui se penchent sur les variations de l\u2019exposition \u00e0 l\u2019AA selon les professions et les groupes de travailleurs. Il est essentiel d&#8217;appr\u00e9hender les points de concentration de l&#8217;exposition \u00e0 l&#8217;AA afin de cerner non seulement les travailleurs les plus vuln\u00e9rables aux transformations technologiques, mais aussi ceux susceptibles de tirer parti de technologies compl\u00e9mentaires. Il est \u00e9galement important de mettre en place des mesures cibl\u00e9es en mati\u00e8re de d\u00e9veloppement des comp\u00e9tences et de la main-d&#8217;\u0153uvre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les vagues pass\u00e9es de changements technologiques ont eu tendance \u00e0 toucher de mani\u00e8re disproportionn\u00e9e les travailleurs issus de groupes sociaux et \u00e9conomiques d\u00e9favoris\u00e9s, notamment par le biais de l\u2019automatisation des t\u00e2ches r\u00e9p\u00e9titives et de routine. L&#8217;apprentissage automatique marque toutefois une rupture technologique distincte. Au-del\u00e0 de l&#8217;automatisation des fonctions de routine, l\u2019AA se montre de plus en plus apte \u00e0 ex\u00e9cuter des t\u00e2ches cognitives complexes, telles que l&#8217;apprentissage, la planification, la pr\u00e9diction et la r\u00e9solution de probl\u00e8mes. Ces t\u00e2ches \u00e9tant int\u00e9gr\u00e9es \u00e0 de nombreuses professions hautement qualifi\u00e9es et mieux r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9es, cela donne \u00e0 penser que l\u2019AA pourrait bouleverser les paradigmes traditionnels concernant les populations les plus touch\u00e9es par les mutations technologiques. L\u2019indice SML \u00e9value dans quelle mesure les t\u00e2ches propres \u00e0 une profession sont techniquement adapt\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019AA; cet indicateur a \u00e9t\u00e9 transpos\u00e9 des classifications am\u00e9ricaines O*NET vers le syst\u00e8me de la Classification nationale des professions (CNP) du Canada. Les professions ont \u00e9t\u00e9 class\u00e9es selon deux profils : celles pr\u00e9sentant une exposition \u00e9lev\u00e9e \u00e0 l&#8217;AA (situ\u00e9es dans le dernier d\u00e9cile des scores SML) et celles affichant une faible exposition (situ\u00e9es dans le premier d\u00e9cile).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Des mod\u00e8les stratifi\u00e9s selon le genre ont \u00e9t\u00e9 employ\u00e9s pour analyser la relation entre le niveau de scolarit\u00e9, la r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration, les exigences de comp\u00e9tences et l\u2019exposition \u00e0 l\u2019AA chez les hommes et les femmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il convient de souligner que cette \u00e9tude mesure le degr\u00e9 d\u2019exposition potentielle \u00e0 l&#8217;apprentissage automatique (AA) sur la base de l&#8217;aptitude des t\u00e2ches \u00e0 \u00eatre automatis\u00e9es, plut\u00f4t que sur l&#8217;implantation r\u00e9elle de ces technologies. Environ 1,9 million de travailleurs, soit pr\u00e8s de 12 % de la population active canadienne, occupaient des professions caract\u00e9ris\u00e9es par une forte exposition \u00e0 l&#8217;AA, un bassin d&#8217;emplois dont une grande partie des t\u00e2ches est adapt\u00e9e \u00e0 cette technologie. \u00c0 l&#8217;inverse, un effectif d&#8217;environ 744 000 travailleurs (soit 4,7 % de la population active) occupait des professions caract\u00e9ris\u00e9es par une faible exposition \u00e0 l&#8217;AA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La r\u00e9partition de l\u2019exposition \u00e0 l\u2019AA est fortement marqu\u00e9e par le genre<\/strong><br>Les femmes comptaient pour pr\u00e8s des deux tiers (63,4 %) des effectifs au sein des professions fortement expos\u00e9es \u00e0 l&#8217;AA, tandis que les hommes s&#8217;av\u00e9raient pr\u00e9dominants dans les professions \u00e0 faible exposition (59,9 %). Ces tendances t\u00e9moignent d&#8217;une s\u00e9gr\u00e9gation professionnelle selon le genre plus globale au sein des profils de poste; elles indiquent que les femmes sont potentiellement plus susceptibles d&#8217;occuper des fonctions o\u00f9 l&#8217;AA pourrait profond\u00e9ment transformer l&#8217;ex\u00e9cution du travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La relation entre l&#8217;exposition \u00e0 l&#8217;AA, le niveau de scolarit\u00e9, la r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration et les exigences de comp\u00e9tences s&#8217;av\u00e8re complexe<\/strong><br>Dans l&#8217;ensemble, les travailleurs dot\u00e9s d&#8217;un niveau de scolarit\u00e9 plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 et exer\u00e7ant des professions offrant une meilleure r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration ou exigeant des niveaux sup\u00e9rieurs de comp\u00e9tences, de formation et d&#8217;exp\u00e9rience \u00e9taient moins susceptibles d&#8217;occuper des professions fortement expos\u00e9es \u00e0 l&#8217;AA. Ces professions \u00e0 forte exposition \u00e0 l&#8217;AA comptaient une proportion relativement plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e de travailleurs titulaires d&#8217;un certificat d&#8217;un m\u00e9tier, d&#8217;un dipl\u00f4me d&#8217;\u00e9tudes coll\u00e9giales ou d&#8217;un baccalaur\u00e9at. \u00c0 l&#8217;inverse, on comptait de plus faibles proportions de travailleurs ayant un tr\u00e8s faible niveau de scolarit\u00e9 ou titulaires de dipl\u00f4mes d&#8217;\u00e9tudes sup\u00e9rieures avanc\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les diff\u00e9rences entre les sexes ont encore nuanc\u00e9 ces r\u00e9sultats. Les femmes dot\u00e9es d&#8217;un niveau de scolarit\u00e9 plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 et celles qui occupent des postes de direction ou des fonctions hautement qualifi\u00e9es \u00e9taient plus susceptibles d&#8217;exercer des professions \u00e0 faible exposition \u00e0 l&#8217;AA, comparativement aux femmes moins scolaris\u00e9es ou occupant des postes moins qualifi\u00e9s. En revanche, l&#8217;AA se distingue par le fait qu&#8217;il ne menace pas exclusivement la main-d&#8217;\u0153uvre moins qualifi\u00e9e ou les emplois \u00e0 faible r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration. L&#8217;AA entra\u00eene plut\u00f4t une recomposition des ensembles de t\u00e2ches dans un large \u00e9ventail de professions, ce qui pr\u00e9sente \u00e0 la fois des risques d&#8217;automatisation des t\u00e2ches et des occasions d&#8217;\u00e9largissement de ces derni\u00e8res.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La r\u00e9partition de l\u2019exposition \u00e0 l\u2019AA selon le genre soul\u00e8ve d&#8217;importants enjeux pour l&#8217;\u00e9laboration des politiques et des pratiques. Si les femmes s\u2019av\u00e8rent potentiellement plus expos\u00e9es aux transformations li\u00e9es \u00e0 l&#8217;AA, cette exposition ne se traduit pas n\u00e9cessairement par des suppressions de postes. L&#8217;AA peut compl\u00e9ter l&#8217;ex\u00e9cution de certaines t\u00e2ches, accro\u00eetre la productivit\u00e9 ou am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 des emplois. En parall\u00e8le, les hommes pourraient \u00eatre comparativement pr\u00e9serv\u00e9s de cette exposition dans certaines professions, ce qui risquerait de limiter leur acc\u00e8s aux nouvelles perspectives offertes par l&#8217;adoption de l&#8217;AA. Ces dynamiques soulignent la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d&#8217;adopter des approches tenant compte des sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s de genre en mati\u00e8re de d\u00e9veloppement des comp\u00e9tences, de transition professionnelle et d&#8217;adoption des technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour les d\u00e9cideurs et les acteurs du d\u00e9veloppement de la main-d&#8217;\u0153uvre, cette \u00e9tude r\u00e9affirme la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de pr\u00e9parer l&#8217;ensemble des travailleurs, et pas uniquement ceux qui occupent des postes traditionnellement \u00ab&nbsp;\u00e0 risque&nbsp;\u00bb, \u00e0 un march\u00e9 du travail de plus en plus fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 par l&#8217;IA et l&#8217;AA. Les strat\u00e9gies de comp\u00e9tences devraient viser \u00e0 aider les travailleurs \u00e0 s&#8217;ajuster \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9volution des exigences des t\u00e2ches, \u00e0 consolider leurs comp\u00e9tences humaines compl\u00e9mentaires et \u00e0 n\u00e9gocier les transitions intra et interprofessionnelles.
