Les ing\u00e9nieurs font partie des professionnels qui souhaitent continuer \u00e0 travailler \u00e0 domicile, certains attendant m\u00eame des primes salariales pour retourner au bureau et envisageant de changer d\u2019employeur s\u2019ils ne le peuvent pas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">L\u2019Ontario Society of Professional Engineers a cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 comprendre l\u2019impact du t\u00e9l\u00e9travail sur la productivit\u00e9 et la culture du travail dans ce secteur, \u00e0 savoir si certains groupes en qu\u00eate d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 sont d\u00e9savantag\u00e9s, et \u00e0 identifier des strat\u00e9gies organisationnelles pour s\u2019adapter. Bien que cette \u00e9tude ait \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9e dans le secteur de l\u2019ing\u00e9nierie, elle est potentiellement pertinente pour d\u2019autres secteurs dans lesquels les professionnels pr\u00e9f\u00e8rent l\u2019exp\u00e9rience du t\u00e9l\u00e9travail qui a d\u00e9coul\u00e9 de la pand\u00e9mie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Les ing\u00e9nieurs pr\u00e9f\u00e8rent travailler \u00e0 domicile, d\u00e9clarant avoir une meilleure conciliation travail-vie personnelle, des trajets plus courts et moins de stress reli\u00e9 au travail. Les employ\u00e9s doivent comprendre que leur pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence marqu\u00e9e pour le t\u00e9l\u00e9travail peut avoir des cons\u00e9quences sur l\u2019\u00e9volution de leur carri\u00e8re, en particulier pour les groupes en qu\u00eate d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 et la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre en d\u00e9but de carri\u00e8re. Les employeurs doivent s\u2019adapter ou risquer d\u2019avoir une main-d\u2019\u0153uvre insatisfaite et des probl\u00e8mes de r\u00e9tention. Des strat\u00e9gies organisationnelles sont n\u00e9cessaires pour assurer le d\u00e9veloppement des nouveaux arrivants et des employ\u00e9s en d\u00e9but de carri\u00e8re et pour \u00e9viter que les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s existantes, notamment l\u2019\u00e9cart de r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration entre les hommes et les femmes, ne soient exacerb\u00e9es.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet a permis de d\u00e9gager plusieurs id\u00e9es pertinentes pour la profession d\u2019ing\u00e9nieur en particulier, ainsi que pour d\u2019autres professions touch\u00e9es par le passage du travail de bureau au travail \u00e0 domicile. Il s\u2019agit notamment de&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Les ing\u00e9nieurs pr\u00e9f\u00e8rent travailler \u00e0 domicile&nbsp;: gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019exp\u00e9rience du t\u00e9l\u00e9travail, de nombreux ing\u00e9nieurs ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d\u2019une meilleure conciliation travail-vie personnelle, d\u2019une diminution de la dur\u00e9e des trajets domicile-travail et, dans une moindre mesure, d\u2019une baisse du stress reli\u00e9 au travail. Peu importe l\u2019\u00e2ge, le sexe ou l\u2019anciennet\u00e9 de l\u2019immigration, pr\u00e8s des deux tiers (64&nbsp;%) des professionnels de l\u2019ing\u00e9nierie ont indiqu\u00e9 vouloir continuer \u00e0 travailler \u00e0 domicile trois jours ou plus par semaine. Seuls 9&nbsp;% d\u2019entre eux souhaiteraient un retour au bureau \u00e0 temps plein. Pr\u00e8s de deux ing\u00e9nieurs sur cinq ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que la possibilit\u00e9 de travailler \u00e0 distance est un facteur d\u00e9terminant dans le choix de leur employeur actuel. Les r\u00e9sultats de l\u2019enqu\u00eate indiquent que les ing\u00e9nieurs de l\u2019Ontario s\u2019attendent de plus en plus \u00e0 ce que leur travail offre des options de t\u00e9l\u00e9travail et\/ou des primes salariales compensatoires pour ceux qui travaillent au bureau.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Les compromis du travail \u00e0 domicile&nbsp;: Les r\u00e9ponses des groupes de discussion sugg\u00e8rent que l\u2019attrait du travail \u00e0 domicile peut se faire au d\u00e9triment d\u2019une courbe d\u2019apprentissage plus longue pour acqu\u00e9rir des connaissances fond\u00e9es sur l\u2019exp\u00e9rience de la \u00ab\u2009fa\u00e7on de faire les choses\u2009\u00bb au Canada, et au d\u00e9triment des possibilit\u00e9s de mentorat. Cette situation pr\u00e9sente des risques pour les nouveaux arrivants et les personnes en d\u00e9but de carri\u00e8re. Pour les femmes, les avantages d\u2019un meilleur \u00e9quilibre entre la vie familiale et personnelle et la carri\u00e8re peuvent \u00eatre particuli\u00e8rement importants. Toutefois, si les \u00e9chelles salariales s\u2019adaptent pour favoriser l\u2019emploi dans les bureaux, cela pourrait avoir pour effet de creuser l\u2019\u00e9cart de r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration existant. Bien que cela ne soit pas d\u00e9finitif, le t\u00e9l\u00e9travail peut \u00e9galement avoir un impact sur la coh\u00e9sion de l\u2019\u00e9quipe.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strat\u00e9gies organisationnelles des employeurs&nbsp;: Les employeurs devront trouver un \u00e9quilibre entre leurs pr\u00e9f\u00e9rences en mati\u00e8re de lieu et de mode de travail et leurs objectifs de recrutement et de r\u00e9tention. M\u00eame parmi les employeurs qui offrent une certaine flexibilit\u00e9, l\u2019\u00e9tude indique que des strat\u00e9gies organisationnelles seront n\u00e9cessaires pour maintenir la coh\u00e9sion de l\u2019\u00e9quipe et pour rem\u00e9dier \u00e0 tout effet n\u00e9gatif dans les domaines du mentorat, de l\u2019int\u00e9gration prolong\u00e9e et des primes salariales.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Incidences incertaines sur la productivit\u00e9&nbsp;: La moiti\u00e9 (50&nbsp;%) des ing\u00e9nieurs qui n\u2019exercent pas de fonctions de supervision d\u00e9clarent que leur productivit\u00e9 a augment\u00e9 pendant le travail \u00e0 domicile, tandis que 12&nbsp;% seulement font \u00e9tat d\u2019une baisse de productivit\u00e9. Les superviseurs en ing\u00e9nierie ont estim\u00e9 que la productivit\u00e9 avait augment\u00e9 pour un peu plus d\u2019un tiers (37&nbsp;%) du personnel relevant de leur comp\u00e9tence, mais qu\u2019elle avait diminu\u00e9 pour environ un cinqui\u00e8me (20&nbsp;%) d\u2019entre eux. Ils doivent \u00e9galement veiller \u00e0 ce que les \u00e9chelles salariales fond\u00e9es sur le lieu de travail ne creusent pas l\u2019\u00e9cart de r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration entre les hommes et les femmes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces r\u00e9sultats sont importants non seulement pour les employeurs, mais aussi pour les associations professionnelles qui peuvent les utiliser pour d\u00e9fendre les int\u00e9r\u00eats de leurs membres, pour les organisations sectorielles nationales qui mettent en place des bar\u00e8mes de r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration bas\u00e9s sur la localisation et pour les d\u00e9cideurs en mati\u00e8re de science et de technologie qui peuvent raisonnablement s\u2019attendre \u00e0 des d\u00e9calages \u00e0 court terme entre les emplois que de nombreux ing\u00e9nieurs occupent actuellement et leurs pr\u00e9f\u00e9rences en mati\u00e8re de travail \u00e0 domicile.
