p\u00e9nuries de main-d\u2019\u0153uvre persistent dans certains secteurs au Canada et que les employeurs ont du mal \u00e0 pourvoir des postes, des centaines de milliers de personnes handicap\u00e9es, qu\u2019elles soient visibles ou non, qui sont capables de travailler, sont sous-employ\u00e9es ou sans emploi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce projet, intitul\u00e9 \u00ab\u2009Soutenir les travailleuses et travailleurs handicap\u00e9s en milieu de carri\u00e8re\u2009\u00bb, vise \u00e0 \u00e9liminer les obstacles \u00e0 l\u2019emploi auxquels font face les personnes handicap\u00e9es au Canada, en particulier celles \u00e2g\u00e9es de 35 \u00e0 49&nbsp;ans. Bien que ces travailleuses et travailleurs en milieu de carri\u00e8re poss\u00e8dent des connaissances et une exp\u00e9rience pr\u00e9cieuse, ils sont souvent victimes de discrimination et n\u2019ont pas acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des mesures d\u2019adaptation appropri\u00e9es en milieu de travail, ce qui nuit \u00e0 leur avancement professionnel et \u00e0 leur int\u00e9gration au march\u00e9 du travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La recherche a adopt\u00e9 une approche globale en plusieurs phases faisant appel \u00e0 la collaboration de chercheuses et chercheurs, d\u2019organisations non gouvernementales de soutien aux personnes handicap\u00e9es et d\u2019employeurs. Le projet comportait quatre \u00e9l\u00e9ments&nbsp;: une analyse secondaire de l\u2019Enqu\u00eate canadienne sur l\u2019incapacit\u00e9 de 2017, un examen exploratoire, un sondage national aupr\u00e8s des travailleuses et travailleurs en milieu de carri\u00e8re en situation de handicap ainsi que des groupes de discussion qualitatifs auxquels ont particip\u00e9 des entreprises et des organismes de services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats ont soulign\u00e9 que la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 a une tendance mal inform\u00e9e \u00e0 consid\u00e9rer les employ\u00e9es et employ\u00e9s handicap\u00e9s comme un groupe monolithique. Les r\u00e9sultats de cette \u00e9tude mettent en \u00e9vidence la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019adopter des pratiques et des politiques d\u2019emploi dynamiques et inclusives qui s\u2019attaquent aux d\u00e9fis uniques auxquels font face les travailleuses et travailleurs handicap\u00e9s en milieu de carri\u00e8re. De plus, les solutions doivent permettre l\u2019adaptation aux niveaux collectif et individuel, et favoriser les personnes handicap\u00e9es, comme celles qui d\u00e9terminent ce dont elles ont besoin pour prosp\u00e9rer sur le march\u00e9 du travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019un des principaux r\u00e9sultats du projet est le d\u00e9veloppement de WorkAbly.ca, une plateforme innovante con\u00e7ue pour soutenir cette main-d\u2019\u0153uvre. Le site Web est une plateforme communautaire en ligne \u00e9volutive con\u00e7ue pour fournir des ressources et des occasions d\u2019\u00e9ducation aux personnes handicap\u00e9es, soutenir les liens entre les personnes handicap\u00e9es, soutenir les employeurs par le partage de ressources et offrir aux employeurs et aux personnes handicap\u00e9es des occasions d\u2019\u00eatre en contact.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Le d\u00e9veloppement et l\u2019expansion continue de WorkAbly.ca, ainsi que la recherche continue sur les obstacles propres \u00e0 chaque secteur, devraient am\u00e9liorer davantage l\u2019adaptabilit\u00e9 professionnelle et les r\u00e9sultats en mati\u00e8re d\u2019emploi pour ces travailleuses et travailleurs. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019un pas important vers la promotion de la prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique et de l\u2019inclusion au Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group key-insights-grey has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"background-color:#0000000d\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Perspectives cl\u00e9s<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default is-flex\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-243230\" style=\"width: 40px;margin-right: 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/No.svg\" alt=\"\">L\u2019\u00e9cart entre les taux d\u2019emploi des travailleuses et travailleurs handicap\u00e9s en milieu de carri\u00e8re \u00e2g\u00e9s de 35 \u00e0 49&nbsp;ans et ceux qui n\u2019ont pas d\u2019incapacit\u00e9 est de 19&nbsp;points de pourcentage (65,8&nbsp;% c. 85,2&nbsp;%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-flex\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-243230\" style=\"width: 40px; margin-right: 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/No-1.svg\" alt=\"\">Un nombre important de travailleuses et travailleurs handicap\u00e9s en milieu de carri\u00e8re ont besoin de mesures d\u2019adaptation en milieu de travail (34,7&nbsp;%) et beaucoup signalent de la discrimination dans des situations li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019emploi, comme les entrevues d\u2019emploi, les offres d\u2019emploi et les promotions, ce qui nuit \u00e0 leurs possibilit\u00e9s d\u2019avancement professionnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-flex\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-243230\" style=\"width: 40px; margin-right: 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/No-2.svg\" alt=\"\">Le projet a mis en \u00e9vidence que deux actions sont n\u00e9cessaires pour am\u00e9liorer les r\u00e9sultats sur le march\u00e9 du travail&nbsp;: 1) adopter des politiques et des pratiques d\u2019emploi adapt\u00e9es, et 2) encourager les travailleurs en milieu de carri\u00e8re \u00e0 initier des changements de politiques et de programmes pour \u00e9liminer les obstacles individuels et structurels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"the-issue\" class=\"wp-block-ob-blocks-anchor-point\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column gradient-top purple is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color\" id=\"TheChallenge\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-240812\" style=\"width: 12px;height: 24px;margin-right: 10px;position: relative; top: -2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Vector-2.svg\" alt=\"\"> L\u2019enjeu<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group flex-print is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Au Canada, les personnes handicap\u00e9es font face \u00e0 des d\u00e9fis notables en mati\u00e8re d\u2019emploi, comme en t\u00e9moignent les taux \u00e9lev\u00e9s de sous-emploi et de ch\u00f4mage chez les travailleuses et travailleurs handicap\u00e9s en milieu de carri\u00e8re \u00e2g\u00e9s de 35 \u00e0 49&nbsp;ans. Malgr\u00e9 leur exp\u00e9rience de travail, ces personnes ont souvent de la difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 trouver un emploi appropri\u00e9. En 2017, le taux d\u2019emploi parmi les personnes handicap\u00e9es \u00e9tait inf\u00e9rieur de 19&nbsp;% par rapport au taux d\u2019emploi des personnes non handicap\u00e9es (66&nbsp;% c. 85&nbsp;%). Conjointement \u00e0 cela, de nombreux employeurs continuent de faire face \u00e0 des d\u00e9fis pour recruter des talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le paysage canadien de l\u2019emploi des travailleuses et travailleurs handicap\u00e9s est depuis longtemps confront\u00e9 \u00e0 des d\u00e9fis, comme la discrimination, les mesures d\u2019adaptation inad\u00e9quates en milieu de travail et l\u2019absence de politiques de soutien. Ces probl\u00e8mes sont encore plus prononc\u00e9s pour les THMC (travailleuses et travailleurs en milieu de carri\u00e8re), qui ont du mal \u00e0 progresser dans leur carri\u00e8re et \u00e0 s\u2019adapter \u00e0 un march\u00e9 du travail en rapide \u00e9volution. Ce groupe constitue un segment important de la population des personnes handicap\u00e9es qui sont au travail ou qui aspirent \u00e0 faire partie de la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre. L\u2019\u00e9tude visait \u00e0 cerner leurs besoins et leurs exp\u00e9riences sp\u00e9cifiques et \u00e0 \u00e9laborer des outils et des ressources de soutien pour faciliter leur int\u00e9gration au march\u00e9 du travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les principales parties prenantes qui ont particip\u00e9 \u00e0 cette \u00e9tude exhaustive \u00e9taient l\u2019University of Ontario Institute of Technology, la Nipissing University, la York University, le Durham College et des organismes de d\u00e9fense des droits r\u00e9put\u00e9s comme l\u2019Association nationale des \u00e9tudiantes et \u00e9tudiants handicap\u00e9s au niveau postsecondaire et le Conseil des Canadiens avec d\u00e9ficiences. Ces organismes ont collabor\u00e9 \u00e0 la collecte et \u00e0 l\u2019analyse de donn\u00e9es, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9laboration de ressources et \u00e0 la diffusion des r\u00e9sultats. Le projet s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 de juillet 2019 \u00e0 d\u00e9cembre 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans l\u2019ensemble, le projet visait \u00e0 acqu\u00e9rir des connaissances et \u00e0 mettre \u00e0 l\u2019essai des strat\u00e9gies pour faciliter le renforcement de la communaut\u00e9 et soutenir la progression de carri\u00e8re des THMC. Pour ce faire, le projet a men\u00e9 quatre sous-initiatives de recherche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Analyse secondaire \u2014 L\u2019\u00e9quipe a effectu\u00e9 une analyse secondaire de l\u2019Enqu\u00eate canadienne sur l\u2019incapacit\u00e9 de 2017 afin de mieux comprendre les caract\u00e9ristiques d\u00e9mographiques et les exp\u00e9riences des THMC sur le march\u00e9 du travail. Cela a impliqu\u00e9 une analyse d\u00e9taill\u00e9e des donn\u00e9es pour identifier les tendances et les besoins sp\u00e9cifiques.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Examen exploratoire&nbsp;\u2014 On a effectu\u00e9 un examen exploratoire pour examiner la litt\u00e9rature existante sur les exp\u00e9riences d\u2019emploi et les d\u00e9fis auxquels sont confront\u00e9s les THMC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enqu\u00eate sur l\u2019exp\u00e9rience d\u2019emploi des THMC \u2014&nbsp; Les r\u00e9sultats de l\u2019analyse secondaire et de l\u2019examen exploratoire ont orient\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9laboration d\u2019une enqu\u00eate nationale visant \u00e0 recueillir des donn\u00e9es primaires sur les exp\u00e9riences d\u2019emploi actuelles et pass\u00e9es, les perceptions, les besoins et les r\u00e9ponses adaptatives \u00e0 l\u2019emploi, ainsi que sur l\u2019apprentissage continu et l\u2019avancement professionnel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Entrevues de groupe \u2014 L\u2019\u00c9quipe a men\u00e9 des entrevues de groupe pour approfondir les th\u00e8mes r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9s par le sondage.
