l\u2019intelligence artificielle (IA). Le Canada est \u00e9galement un chef de file en mati\u00e8re de talents dans le domaine de l\u2019IA (avec plus de 140&nbsp;000&nbsp;sp\u00e9cialistes en IA en 2023) et de diversit\u00e9 des genres dans les domaines li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019IA. Le pays est pourtant \u00e0 la tra\u00eene sur la sc\u00e8ne mondiale au chapitre de l\u2019adoption de l\u2019IA.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette \u00e9tude vise \u00e0 comprendre l\u2019\u00e9cart existant entre les employeurs et les employ\u00e9s en ce qui a trait \u00e0 l\u2019adoption de l\u2019IA et aux comp\u00e9tences connexes. Ce rapport s\u2019appuie sur de nouvelles donn\u00e9es recueillies en 2024 dans le cadre d\u2019un sondage men\u00e9 aupr\u00e8s de plus de 5&nbsp;800&nbsp;Canadiens, combin\u00e9es \u00e0 des r\u00e9sultats ant\u00e9rieurs du <a href=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/fr\/recherche\/sondage-sur-lemploi-et-les-competences\/\">Sondage sur l\u2019emploi et les comp\u00e9tences<\/a>, qui en est \u00e0 sa septi\u00e8me vague. Le sondage a \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9 pour la premi\u00e8re fois en 2020. Entre la premi\u00e8re et la septi\u00e8me vague, plus de 40&nbsp;000&nbsp;personnes ont particip\u00e9 au sondage.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le principal obstacle \u00e0 l\u2019adoption de l\u2019IA mis en relief par les entreprises canadiennes est la difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 trouver du personnel poss\u00e9dant les comp\u00e9tences et le savoir-faire n\u00e9cessaires pour faciliter l\u2019int\u00e9gration de cette technologie. D\u2019autres obstacles sont la m\u00e9connaissance des Canadiens des outils d\u2019IA utilisables en milieu de travail et les pr\u00e9occupations li\u00e9es \u00e0 la d\u00e9ontologie et \u00e0 la confidentialit\u00e9 que soul\u00e8ve l\u2019int\u00e9gration de l\u2019IA dans les op\u00e9rations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette \u00e9tude explore \u00e9galement la perception de l\u2019IA au travail et examine si les membres du personnel re\u00e7oivent une formation et un encadrement sur la fa\u00e7on d\u2019utiliser cette technologie au travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats montrent que les employ\u00e9s n\u2019attendent pas que leur employeur leur propose la formation ou le soutien n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019IA au travail. En outre, un peu plus de la moiti\u00e9 des personnes interrog\u00e9es estimaient que leur employeur ne leur offrait pas suffisamment de formation sur les nouvelles technologies. Ces r\u00e9sultats sont importants et doivent \u00eatre pris en compte, car l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019IA sans politique ou soutien de la part des employeurs et sans garde-fous pour une utilisation s\u00e9curitaire et \u00e9thique cr\u00e9e d\u2019\u00e9normes risques.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, les employ\u00e9s apprennent soit par le biais de l\u2019autoformation, soit sans aucune formation. Il est int\u00e9ressant de noter que les personnes qui ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 ma\u00eetriser l\u2019IA sont celles qui craignent le plus l\u2019automatisation de leur travail, ce qui r\u00e9v\u00e8le la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019une meilleure connaissance de l\u2019IA par le biais de l\u2019encadrement et de politiques organisationnelles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9tude examine \u00e9galement les diff\u00e9rences entre les groupes d\u2019employ\u00e9s qui utilisent l\u2019IA. En 2023, le Canada comptait <a href=\"https:\/\/oecd.ai\/en\/wonk\/canadas-ai-compute-gap\">plus de 140&nbsp;000&nbsp;professionnels de l\u2019IA<\/a>. Le Canada est \u00e9galement \u00e0 la tra\u00eene sur la sc\u00e8ne mondiale au chapitre de l\u2019adoption de l\u2019IA, car <a href=\"https:\/\/researchmoneyinc.com\/article\/canadian-businesses-far-behind-those-in-other-countries-in-adopting-ai-technology-\">moins de 4&nbsp;%<\/a> des entreprises ont indiqu\u00e9 qu\u2019elles utilisent l\u2019IA dans leurs activit\u00e9s op\u00e9rationnelles. D\u2019autres pays ont des taux d\u2019adoption de l\u2019IA deux fois plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s que celui du Canada. Interrog\u00e9s sur les obstacles \u00e0 l\u2019adoption de l\u2019IA, les employeurs canadiens ont indiqu\u00e9 qu\u2019ils avaient de la <a href=\"https:\/\/canada.newsroom.ibm.com\/2024-01-10-Canadian-businesses-saw-uptick-in-AI-Adoption-in-2023-vs-global-peers\">difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 trouver des employ\u00e9s ayant une expertise en IA<\/a>, ce qui r\u00e9v\u00e8le un foss\u00e9 entre les travailleurs ayant des comp\u00e9tences en IA et les employeurs qui cherchent \u00e0 les recruter. D\u2019une part, les donn\u00e9es montrent que le Canada dispose d\u2019une main-d\u2019\u0153uvre hautement qualifi\u00e9e, pr\u00eate \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 la demande croissante de comp\u00e9tences en IA \u00e0 mesure que l\u2019adoption de cette technologie augmente. D\u2019autre part, les entreprises canadiennes affirment qu\u2019elles ont du mal \u00e0 trouver des travailleurs poss\u00e9dant les comp\u00e9tences en IA dont elles ont besoin.&nbsp;<br>Les entreprises canadiennes ont \u00e9galement du mal \u00e0 adopter l\u2019IA parce qu\u2019elles ont une m\u00e9connaissance des outils d\u2019IA. La recherche montre que pr\u00e8s des <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodmans.ca\/insights\/post\/goodmans-tech-blog\/ai-adoption-by-canadian-businesses-slow-despite-stated-interest#:~:text=The%20main%20obstacle%20to%20AI,of%20the%20available%20AI%20tools.\">trois quarts<\/a> des entreprises canadiennes indiquent avoir du mal \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer le bien-fond\u00e9 de l\u2019IA. Certains employeurs \u00e9prouvent une <a href=\"https:\/\/canada.newsroom.ibm.com\/2024-01-10-Canadian-businesses-saw-uptick-in-AI-Adoption-in-2023-vs-global-peers\">m\u00e9fiance \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des outils d\u2019IA<\/a> et ont des questionnements \u00e9thiques, souvent en raison de l\u2019incertitude quant au fonctionnement de ces outils. Entre 2020 et 2024, plus de 40&nbsp;000&nbsp;personnes partout au Canada ont particip\u00e9 aux sept vagues du sondage. La septi\u00e8me vague comptait plus de 5&nbsp;800&nbsp;participants. Les personnes qui ont utilis\u00e9 des outils d\u2019IA au travail ont indiqu\u00e9 qu\u2019elles l\u2019avaient fait sans formation ou sans encadrement structur\u00e9 de la part de leur employeur.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Diversity Institute a \u00e9labor\u00e9 un ensemble de comp\u00e9tences en IA fond\u00e9es sur des donn\u00e9es probantes, qui reconna\u00eet la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de disposer de trois niveaux de comp\u00e9tences en IA&nbsp;: les comp\u00e9tences techniques approfondies; les comp\u00e9tences n\u00e9cessaires pour innover avec l\u2019IA, y compris les comp\u00e9tences techniques et celles n\u00e9cessaires pour favoriser le changement; et les connaissances de base en mati\u00e8re d\u2019IA, que tous les emplois requi\u00e8rent. Les comp\u00e9tences permettant d\u2019innover avec l\u2019IA sont particuli\u00e8rement demand\u00e9es et promettent de cr\u00e9er de nouvelles voies vers des emplois de qualit\u00e9 tout en r\u00e9duisant la fracture num\u00e9rique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Constatations principales&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pr\u00e8s de 3&nbsp;travailleurs canadiens sur&nbsp;10 utilisent des outils d\u2019IA au travail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Moins d\u2019une personne interrog\u00e9e sur cinq (14&nbsp;%) se d\u00e9clare \u00eatre tr\u00e8s famili\u00e8re avec les outils d\u2019IA utilisables au travail, 35&nbsp;% en sont assez famili\u00e8res, 27&nbsp;% en sont tr\u00e8s peu famili\u00e8res et 21,6&nbsp;% n\u2019en sont pas du tout famili\u00e8res.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Les perceptions \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard de la vitesse d\u2019adaptation du milieu de travail aux nouvelles technologies sont partag\u00e9es&nbsp;: 43&nbsp;% des r\u00e9pondants estiment que leur milieu de travail a mis trop de temps \u00e0 saisir les occasions que pr\u00e9sentent les nouvelles technologies, mais 44&nbsp;% pensent le contraire.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>La perception \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard de la formation offerte par l\u2019employeur est l\u00e9g\u00e8rement n\u00e9gative&nbsp;: 47&nbsp;% des personnes interrog\u00e9es estiment ne pas avoir re\u00e7u suffisamment de formation au travail sur les nouvelles technologies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pr\u00e8s de la moiti\u00e9 (44&nbsp;%) des personnes qui craignent le plus l\u2019automatisation de leur travail sont \u00e9galement celles qui ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 \u00eatre tr\u00e8s famili\u00e8res avec l\u2019IA au travail. Un peu plus de la moiti\u00e9 des personnes les moins pr\u00e9occup\u00e9es par l\u2019automatisation ne sont pas tr\u00e8s famili\u00e8res (30&nbsp;%) ou pas du tout (25&nbsp;%) famili\u00e8res avec l\u2019IA au travail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Un peu plus des deux tiers des r\u00e9pondants (68&nbsp;%) qui ont utilis\u00e9 l\u2019IA l\u2019ont apprise par eux-m\u00eames, soit sans formation (44&nbsp;%), soit par une autoformation (24&nbsp;%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Des diff\u00e9rences entre les groupes ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9es dans le cadre du sondage&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>La connaissance des outils d\u2019IA au travail varie en fonction de l\u2019\u00e2ge&nbsp;: 44&nbsp;% des personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es de 55 \u00e0 64&nbsp;ans d\u00e9clarent ne pas avoir re\u00e7u d\u2019encadrement sur l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019IA au travail de la part de leur employeur, contre 30&nbsp;% des personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es de 25 \u00e0 34&nbsp;ans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On observe des diff\u00e9rences entre les genres concernant la familiarit\u00e9 avec l\u2019IA&nbsp;: 53&nbsp;% des hommes d\u00e9clarent \u00eatre tr\u00e8s ou assez familiers avec les programmes d\u2019IA utilisables en milieu de travail, contre 47&nbsp;% des femmes. Cette disparit\u00e9 est nettement inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cart entre les genres dans le secteur de la technologie, o\u00f9, bien qu\u2019elles repr\u00e9sentent la moiti\u00e9 de la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre, les femmes n\u2019occupent que 30&nbsp;% des postes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plus d\u2019hommes (62&nbsp;%) que de femmes (56&nbsp;%) ont re\u00e7u un encadrement formel ou informel de leur employeur sur l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019IA en milieu de travail.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Un peu moins de la moiti\u00e9 (47&nbsp;%) des participants blancs n\u2019ont re\u00e7u aucune formation sur l\u2019utilisation des outils d\u2019IA en milieu de travail. Les entreprises et l\u2019\u00e9conomie canadiennes courent d\u2019\u00e9normes risques si les employ\u00e9s continuent de devancer leurs employeurs dans l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019IA au travail. Ces risques concernent notamment la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 intellectuelle, la protection de la vie priv\u00e9e, la cybers\u00e9curit\u00e9 et la r\u00e9putation. La cr\u00e9ation de technologies perturbatrices ne suscite pas l\u2019innovation. Mais leur utilisation, si.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour que le Canada conserve son avantage concurrentiel dans le secteur mondial de l\u2019IA, les employeurs doivent adapter et am\u00e9liorer leurs processus d\u2019embauche afin d\u2019\u00e9largir leur bassin de talents. Si les employeurs \u00e9prouvent des difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 pourvoir les postes li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019IA, il est fort probable qu\u2019ils ne cherchent pas au bon endroit parce que leurs processus d\u2019embauche actuels excluent certains groupes. En outre, de nouvelles donn\u00e9es sugg\u00e8rent que certaines formes d\u2019IA pourraient r\u00e9duire l\u2019\u00e9cart entre les hommes et les femmes. En effet, ce sont souvent les aspects n\u00e9gatifs de l\u2019IA qui font les gros titres, comme le r\u00f4le de l\u2019IA dans la m\u00e9sinformation et les perturbations que peut causer l\u2019IA g\u00e9n\u00e9rative dans les industries de la cr\u00e9ation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le sondage a \u00e9galement r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que les personnes interrog\u00e9es ont divers degr\u00e9s de connaissance de l\u2019IA, ce qui indique un besoin de perfectionnement des comp\u00e9tences \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents niveaux.
