soient les conditions du march\u00e9 du travail, certains jeunes ont plus de difficult\u00e9s que d\u2019autres \u00e0 entrer sur le march\u00e9 du travail et peuvent conna\u00eetre des p\u00e9riodes prolong\u00e9es sans emploi ni formation. En p\u00e9riode de choc \u00e9conomique, comme une r\u00e9cession, les d\u00e9fis sont plus importants. Les jeunes sortent de l\u2019\u00e9cole en pleine r\u00e9cession, avec des emplois de moindre qualit\u00e9 et moins bien r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9s, ce qui laisse des traces sur le march\u00e9 du travail, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire des effets durables sur les revenus et les perspectives de carri\u00e8re d\u2019une personne au fil du temps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les \u00ab\u2009s\u00e9quelles\u2009\u00bb surviennent lorsqu\u2019une personne est absente du travail, de l\u2019\u00e9cole ou de la formation pendant un certain temps, et cette p\u00e9riode d\u2019absence du travail ou de l\u2019\u00e9ducation a des effets n\u00e9gatifs \u00e0 long terme (c.-\u00e0-d. des s\u00e9quelles) sur ses futures possibilit\u00e9s d\u2019emploi. Les s\u00e9quelles peuvent \u00eatre attribu\u00e9es \u00e0 toute une s\u00e9rie de circonstances individuelles ou \u00e9conomiques, mais elles sont beaucoup plus fr\u00e9quentes apr\u00e8s les r\u00e9cessions \u00e9conomiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Les jeunes d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui sont confront\u00e9s aux effets durables de la pand\u00e9mie tout en faisant face \u00e0 des d\u00e9fis comme le co\u00fbt de la vie, la crise du logement et l\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration des impacts climatiques. C\u2019est pourquoi il est important de r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir \u00e0 des r\u00e9ponses politiques qui contribueront \u00e0 att\u00e9nuer les s\u00e9quelles li\u00e9es \u00e0 la pand\u00e9mie et \u00e0 les att\u00e9nuer \u00e0 l\u2019avenir. Pour certains, cette douleur est de courte dur\u00e9e, mais pour d\u2019autres, il existe un risque important de dommages durables. Les jeunes, et en particulier les jeunes dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s, sont confront\u00e9s, pendant et apr\u00e8s les p\u00e9riodes de r\u00e9cession, \u00e0 des d\u00e9fis particuliers qui peuvent les poursuivre \u00e0 long terme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les effets imm\u00e9diats des chocs \u00e9conomiques comme la r\u00e9cession se traduisent par des pertes d\u2019emploi et une r\u00e9duction des heures de travail et des salaires pour les jeunes. Au fil du temps, ces cons\u00e9quences \u00e0 court terme s\u2019accumulent et ont un impact durable sur les revenus professionnels, les opportunit\u00e9s d\u2019emploi, la participation au march\u00e9 du travail et la progression de carri\u00e8re. Ces cons\u00e9quences durables, connues sous le nom de \u00ab\u2009s\u00e9quelles du march\u00e9 du travail\u2009\u00bb, peuvent avoir des r\u00e9percussions importantes en aval sur le bien-\u00eatre des jeunes, leur inclusion \u00e9conomique et leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 se constituer une s\u00e9curit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique et un patrimoine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les recherches men\u00e9es au Canada et dans d\u2019autres pays indiquent clairement deux choses&nbsp;: de nombreux jeunes subissent les cons\u00e9quences \u00e9conomiques \u00e0 long terme des chocs \u00e9conomiques, et cette douleur est ressentie de mani\u00e8re disproportionn\u00e9e par les jeunes qui \u00e9taient d\u00e9j\u00e0 confront\u00e9s \u00e0 des obstacles \u00e0 l\u2019entr\u00e9e dans la vie active. Cependant, lorsque des chocs surviennent, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse de r\u00e9cessions, de pand\u00e9mies ou de transitions dans des secteurs particuliers (par exemple, le secteur de l\u2019\u00e9nergie), les d\u00e9cideurs politiques ont tendance \u00e0 se pr\u00e9occuper avant tout des cons\u00e9quences \u00e0 court terme de ces chocs. Certaines grandes organisations sont \u00e9galement conscientes de ces d\u00e9fis et ont pris des mesures pour soutenir la mise en r\u00e9seau et le travail de d\u00e9butant pour les jeunes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces efforts n\u2019ont toutefois pas suffi \u00e0 emp\u00eacher les s\u00e9quelles qui ont nui \u00e0 la prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 du Canada et aggrav\u00e9 les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s. Les gouvernements, les employeurs et les organisations communautaires doivent mettre en \u0153uvre des politiques et des programmes qui minimisent le risque de s\u00e9quelles li\u00e9es \u00e0 la pand\u00e9mie et aux chocs \u00e9conomiques futurs \u2013 le vieillissement de la population rend plus urgente que jamais la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de veiller \u00e0 ce que tous les jeunes b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient d\u2019un soutien pour atteindre leur plein potentiel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour att\u00e9nuer les effets n\u00e9fastes sur les jeunes de l\u2019impact \u00e0 long terme sur le march\u00e9 du travail, le Canada a besoin de r\u00e9ponses de la part de tous les niveaux de gouvernement, des employeurs et de la communaut\u00e9.
