Elle contribue \u00e0 combler les \u00e9carts entre l\u2019enseignement formel et les comp\u00e9tences particuli\u00e8res requises sur le lieu de travail, y compris les \u00e9carts qui r\u00e9sultent des changements technologiques, r\u00e9glementaires et autres changements \u00e9conomiques et sociaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 l\u2019importance de la formation parrain\u00e9e par l\u2019employeur, les connaissances actuelles sont limit\u00e9es en ce qui concerne les investissements consacr\u00e9s \u00e0 la formation, les types de formation offerte, les modes de prestation, les r\u00e9sultats et les \u00e9carts entre les investissements et les possibilit\u00e9s selon les secteurs, les r\u00e9gions et les caract\u00e9ristiques des employ\u00e9s. Les donn\u00e9es canadiennes concernant les niveaux, les types, les tendances et les r\u00e9sultats de la formation parrain\u00e9e par l\u2019employeur sont en grande partie peu fiables, p\u00e9rim\u00e9es ou mal adapt\u00e9es \u00e0 la comparaison dans le temps et entre les provinces et territoires. Les employeurs des secteurs des services publics, des finances et des assurances et d\u2019autres industries ax\u00e9es sur le savoir et les technologies ont des taux de formation sup\u00e9rieurs \u00e0 la moyenne, tandis que les entreprises des secteurs du commerce de d\u00e9tail, de la foresterie et de l\u2019extraction de p\u00e9trole et de gaz pr\u00e9sentent des taux de formation inf\u00e9rieurs \u00e0 la moyenne.
