En r\u00e9alit\u00e9, s\u2019absenter du travail s\u2019av\u00e8re plut\u00f4t difficile. En effet, certains effectifs ne disposent d\u2019aucun cong\u00e9 de maladie pay\u00e9, ce qui signifie que chaque jour ou quart de travail manqu\u00e9 entra\u00eene des r\u00e9percussions financi\u00e8res. L\u2019octroi de cong\u00e9s de maladie pay\u00e9s constitue un facteur d\u00e9terminant dans la d\u00e9cision de certaines personnes \u00e0 aller travailler ou non en cas de maladie.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"numbered-card__background\" style=\"background-color:#4e0047\"><\/div><div class=\"numbered-card__number\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ob-blocks-content-card\"><h3 class=\"numbered-card__title\" style=\"color:#4e0047\"><\/h3><div class=\"numbered-card__text\" style=\"color:#000000\"><p>La possibilit\u00e9 de prendre un cong\u00e9 en cas de maladie passe par la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 d\u2019emploi. Le groupe des personnes affichant le plus haut taux de pr\u00e9sence au travail en cas de maladie, car elles ne toucheraient aucune r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration comprend : les personnes travaillant \u00e0 temps partiel; celles travaillant dans le domaine de la vente ou des services, dans le secteur du transport ou du travail manuel ou exer\u00e7ant un m\u00e9tier sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9; les personnes touchant un faible revenu; les personnes n\u2019occupant pas un emploi permanent; le personnel ne d\u00e9tenant pas de dipl\u00f4me coll\u00e9gial ou universitaire.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"numbered-card__background\" style=\"background-color:#4e0047\"><\/div><div class=\"numbered-card__number\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ob-blocks-content-card\"><h3 class=\"numbered-card__title\" style=\"color:#4e0047\"><\/h3><div class=\"numbered-card__text\" style=\"color:#000000\"><p>Pourtant, l\u2019octroi de cong\u00e9s de maladie pay\u00e9s ne refl\u00e8te qu\u2019un aspect de la situation, \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 que bon nombre de Canadiens.ennes malades se rendent au travail, et ce, bien qu\u2019ils disposent de cong\u00e9s de maladie pay\u00e9s. En effet, le motif le plus couramment invoqu\u00e9 par la population active canadienne qui, m\u00eame en cas d\u2019inconfort, va au travail est le sentiment de responsabilit\u00e9 envers son emploi et ses coll\u00e8gues et non parce que le salaire est tributaire de la pr\u00e9sence au travail<\/p><\/div><div class=\"numbered-card__background\" style=\"background-color:#4e0047\"><\/div><div class=\"numbered-card__number\"><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-large-paragraph\">R\u00e9sum\u00e9<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La pand\u00e9mie a attir\u00e9 l\u2019attention sur la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de s\u2019auto-isoler d\u00e8s l\u2019apparition des signes d\u2019une maladie infectieuse afin de freiner la propagation du virus de la COVID\u201119. Ce sondage confirme qu\u2019avant la pand\u00e9mie, seulement deux membres sur cinq de la population active canadienne auraient pris un cong\u00e9 de maladie en cas de sympt\u00f4mes ressentis (comme s\u2019ils attrapaient un rhume ou une grippe). Parmi les personnes ayant r\u00e9pondu qu\u2019elles auraient sans doute \u00e9t\u00e9 travailler m\u00eame s\u2019ils \u00e9taient indispos\u00e9s (avant la pand\u00e9mie), deux personnes sur cinq avouent avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 contraintes de le faire, faute de quoi elles n\u2019auraient pas \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9es. \u00c0 l\u2019oppos\u00e9, une grande proportion des personnes ayant r\u00e9pondu qu\u2019elles se porteraient malades a admis toucher une r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration m\u00eame en de telles circonstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cela dit, le manque de cong\u00e9s de maladie pay\u00e9s n\u2019est pas le motif le plus couramment invoqu\u00e9 par les travailleurs.euses qui, m\u00eame en cas d\u2019indisposition, vont au travail. La plupart de ces personnes mentionnent que leurs coll\u00e8gues comptent sur elles pour accomplir leurs t\u00e2ches et refusent donc de les laisser tomber. Beaucoup de personnes affirment \u00e9galement s\u2019acquitter de leurs t\u00e2ches par crainte d\u2019accuser un retard vu leur lourde charge de travail. Par cons\u00e9quent, la culture en milieu de travail, y compris le sens du devoir envers son emploi ou ses coll\u00e8gues, constitue un facteur tout aussi important, voire davantage, que l\u2019octroi de cong\u00e9s de maladie pay\u00e9s conduisant certaines personnes \u00e0 aller travailler malgr\u00e9 leur indisposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De toute \u00e9vidence, la possibilit\u00e9 de prendre un cong\u00e9 en cas de maladie passe par la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 d\u2019emploi. Les travailleurs. euses dont la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 d\u2019emploi est pr\u00e9caire (y compris les personnes travaillant \u00e0 temps partiel, les personnes occupant un emploi connexe aux m\u00e9tiers sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s, au secteur du transport, au travail manuel, aux ventes ou aux services, les employ\u00e9.e.s nonpermanents, les travailleurs.euses touchant un faible revenu ou ne d\u00e9tenant pas de dipl\u00f4me universitaire) sont fortement enclins \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre qu\u2019ils.elles iraient travailler m\u00eame s\u2019ils.elles se sentent malades, sans quoi ils. elles ne seraient pas pay\u00e9.e.s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les personnes jouissant d\u2019une bonne s\u00e9curit\u00e9 d\u2019emploi (y compris celles occupant un emploi \u00e0 temps plein et permanent), ainsi que les hommes, les personnes n\u00e9es au Canada, de parents n\u00e9s au Canada \u00e9galement et les personnes non racis\u00e9es ont largement tendance \u00e0 r\u00e9v\u00e9ler qu\u2019elles seraient pay\u00e9es si elles prenaient un cong\u00e9 de maladie en cas d\u2019indisposition. En revanche, les personnes profitant d\u2019une bonne s\u00e9curit\u00e9 d\u2019emploi qui se rendent au travail malgr\u00e9 des sympt\u00f4mes de maladie sont fortement sujettes \u00e0 invoquer un motif autre que le manque de cong\u00e9s de maladie, comme celui de la crainte d\u2019accuser un retard en raison de leur lourde charge de travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u00e8s lors, les efforts d\u2019am\u00e9lioration de la sant\u00e9 publique et de lutte \u00e0 la propagation de maladies graves doivent viser \u00e0 combler les lacunes en mati\u00e8re d\u2019octroi de cong\u00e9s de maladie En r\u00e9alit\u00e9, s\u2019absenter du travail s\u2019av\u00e8re plut\u00f4t difficile. En effet, certains effectifs ne disposent d\u2019aucun cong\u00e9 de maladie pay\u00e9, ce qui signifie que chaque jour ou quart de travail manqu\u00e9 entra\u00eene des r\u00e9percussions financi\u00e8res.
