Ainsi, plus d&#8217;\u00e9tudiants doivent \u00eatre recrut\u00e9s dans et conserv\u00e9s en degr\u00e9s SOUCHES d&#8217;\u00e9tudes. Parce que les professeurs sont consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme influents dans les choix des \u00e9l\u00e8ves \u00e0 poursuivre et rester dans des disciplines STEM, nous avons interview\u00e9 l&#8217;universit\u00e9 facult\u00e9 de STEM afin d&#8217;identifier leurs perceptions de recrutement et r\u00e9tention des \u00e9l\u00e8ves dans les domaines de la tige. Nos donn\u00e9es indiquent que les professeurs ne sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement pas au courant ou pas inquiet au sujet de la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de produire des dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s SOUCHES suppl\u00e9mentaires. De plus, les professeurs semblent ignorer les actions qu&#8217;ils pourraient prendre pour influencer positivement le recrutement et la r\u00e9tention STEM au niveau postsecondaire. Ici, nous discutons sp\u00e9cifiquement les perceptions du corps professoral de (1) l&#8217;\u00e9cart entre le nombre de dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s SOUCHES et le nombre de travailleurs SOUCHES disponibles pour les emplois li\u00e9s \u00e0 STEM, (2) pourquoi les \u00e9tudiants ne peuvent pas aller dans ou autres dans les domaines des STIM et ( 3) leurs propres r\u00f4les chez les \u00e9l\u00e8ves de recrutement et de maintien dans les champs de STIM.
