Couvrant toutes les entreprises am\u00e9ricaines entre 1978 \u00e0 2012, nous montrons que la quasi-totalit\u00e9 de l&#8217;augmentation de la dispersion des revenus entre les travailleurs est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par une augmentation de la dispersion des salaires moyens pay\u00e9s par les employeurs de ces personnes. En revanche, les \u00e9carts de r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration au sein des employeurs sont rest\u00e9s pratiquement inchang\u00e9s, une constatation qui est solide dans toutes les industries, les r\u00e9gions g\u00e9ographiques et les groupes de taille de l&#8217;entreprise.
