La technologie est suppos\u00e9e prendre une forme de facteur augmentant, ce qui, en compl\u00e9tant soit les travailleurs de comp\u00e9tences \u00e9lev\u00e9es ou faibles, peut g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des changements de la demande biais\u00e9e de comp\u00e9tences. Dans cet article, nous soutenons que, malgr\u00e9 ses succ\u00e8s notables, le mod\u00e8le canonique est largement silencieux sur un certain nombre de d\u00e9veloppements empiriques centrales des trois derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies, notamment: (1) une baisse sensible des salaires r\u00e9els des travailleurs peu qualifi\u00e9s, particuli\u00e8rement bas les hommes de comp\u00e9tences ; (2) des modifications non monotone des salaires \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents points de la r\u00e9partition des gains au cours des diff\u00e9rentes d\u00e9cennies; (3) augmente \u00e0 base large de l&#8217;emploi dans des comp\u00e9tences \u00e9lev\u00e9es et personnel peu qualifi\u00e9s par rapport aux moyens m\u00e9tiers sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s (\u00e0 savoir, le travail \u00ab polarisation \u00bb \u00bb); (4) la diffusion rapide des nouvelles technologies qui se substituent directement du capital au travail dans les t\u00e2ches auparavant accomplies par les travailleurs moyennement qualifi\u00e9s; et (5) l&#8217;\u00e9largissement de l&#8217;offshoring en opportunit\u00e9s, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la technologie, qui permettent de remplacer la main-d&#8217;\u0153uvre \u00e9trang\u00e8re pour les travailleurs domestiques t\u00e2ches sp\u00e9cifiques.
