\u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger (MDI) se heurtent \u00e0 des obstacles syst\u00e9miques \u00e0 l\u2019emploi, notamment le co\u00fbt \u00e9lev\u00e9 des examens d\u2019\u00e9quivalence, le nombre limit\u00e9 de places en r\u00e9sidence, le manque de reconnaissance de leurs dipl\u00f4mes et un acc\u00e8s restreint aux r\u00e9seaux professionnels. \u00c0 ces d\u00e9fis s\u2019ajoutent la pr\u00e9carit\u00e9 financi\u00e8re, le sous-emploi et les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s qui touchent les femmes, les groupes racialis\u00e9s, les m\u00e9decins plus \u00e2g\u00e9s ainsi que les personnes dont la langue maternelle n\u2019est ni l\u2019anglais ni le fran\u00e7ais. En cons\u00e9quence, le nombre de m\u00e9decins dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger (MDI) qui exercent dans le r\u00e9seau de la sant\u00e9 est bien inf\u00e9rieur \u00e0 son potentiel, malgr\u00e9 une grave p\u00e9nurie de personnel m\u00e9dical et alors que plus de six millions de Canadiens n\u2019ont pas de m\u00e9decin de famille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le programme HELP (Health English Language Pro) a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u pour surmonter certains de ces obstacles gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un mod\u00e8le de jumelage entre pairs qui r\u00e9unit des m\u00e9decins b\u00e9n\u00e9voles et des m\u00e9decins nouvellement arriv\u00e9s. Le programme \u00e9tait ax\u00e9 sur l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de la communication m\u00e9dicale en anglais, la compr\u00e9hension du syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 canadien, l\u2019assurance professionnelle et le renforcement du capital social. Les donn\u00e9es d\u2019\u00e9valuation indiquent que l\u2019ensemble des m\u00e9decins nouvellement arriv\u00e9s ont constat\u00e9 un renforcement de leurs liens avec la communaut\u00e9 m\u00e9dicale. La quasi-totalit\u00e9 des participants (95&nbsp;%) ont fait \u00e9tat d\u2019une plus grande assurance en communication m\u00e9dicale en anglais et d\u2019une meilleure compr\u00e9hension du syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 canadien. Tant les b\u00e9n\u00e9voles que les nouveaux arrivants ont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement senti que leur expertise \u00e9tait valoris\u00e9e, bien que les nouveaux arrivants aient \u00e9t\u00e9 plus enclins \u00e0 voir cette relation comme un partenariat d\u2019\u00e9gal \u00e0 \u00e9gal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les participants ont \u00e9galement profit\u00e9 d\u2019outils d\u2019apprentissage pratiques comme des mises en situation, qui ont constitu\u00e9 le volet le plus appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 du programme. Les modules de communication et les vid\u00e9os se sont \u00e9galement r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9s utiles. Toutefois, des obstacles majeurs subsistent au-del\u00e0 du programme, notamment les contraintes li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019obtention du permis d\u2019exercice, les co\u00fbts financiers et le manque de voies d\u2019acc\u00e8s transparentes \u00e0 la profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Dans l\u2019ensemble, les r\u00e9sultats r\u00e9v\u00e8lent que l\u2019int\u00e9gration repose sur l\u2019acc\u00e8s, le maillage relationnel et les contraintes syst\u00e9miques. Le mod\u00e8le HELP d\u00e9montre que des partenariats structur\u00e9s entre pairs peuvent grandement favoriser l\u2019inclusion, l\u2019\u00e9tat de pr\u00e9paration et le r\u00e9seautage professionnel, bien que des r\u00e9formes syst\u00e9miques plus vastes demeurent n\u00e9cessaires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group key-insights-grey has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"background-color:#0000000d\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Perspectives cl\u00e9s<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default is-flex\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-243230\" style=\"width: 40px;margin-right: 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/No.svg\" alt=\"\">L\u2019ensemble des m\u00e9decins nouvellement arriv\u00e9s (100&nbsp;%) ont indiqu\u00e9 \u00eatre mieux int\u00e9gr\u00e9s au sein de la communaut\u00e9 m\u00e9dicale apr\u00e8s avoir suivi le programme HELP, alors qu\u2019ils n\u2019\u00e9taient que 45&nbsp;% avant d\u2019y participer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-flex\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-243230\" style=\"width: 40px; margin-right: 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/No-1.svg\" alt=\"\">Les m\u00e9decins nouvellement arriv\u00e9s \u00e9prouvaient des difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 subvenir \u00e0 leurs besoins pendant le processus d\u2019obtention de leur permis d\u2019exercice, et se retrouvaient souvent surqualifi\u00e9s pour les postes non cliniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-flex\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-243230\" style=\"width: 40px; margin-right: 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/No-2.svg\" alt=\"\">La quasi-totalit\u00e9 des b\u00e9n\u00e9voles (91&nbsp;%) et des m\u00e9decins nouvellement arriv\u00e9s (90&nbsp;%) interrog\u00e9s ont estim\u00e9 que leur expertise \u00e9tait valoris\u00e9e au sein des partenariats cr\u00e9\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"the-issue\" class=\"wp-block-ob-blocks-anchor-point\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column gradient-top purple is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color\" id=\"TheChallenge\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-240812\" style=\"width: 12px;height: 24px;margin-right: 10px;position: relative; top: -2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Vector-2.svg\" alt=\"\"> &nbsp;L\u2019enjeu<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group flex-print is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Les m\u00e9decins form\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger (MFE) se heurtent \u00e0 des obstacles syst\u00e9miques en mati\u00e8re d\u2019emploi et d\u2019int\u00e9gration professionnelle au Canada. Ces obstacles limitent la capacit\u00e9 du syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 \u00e0 tirer pleinement parti de l\u2019expertise des m\u00e9decins form\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avant de pouvoir exercer au Canada, les m\u00e9decins dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger (MDI) doivent passer des examens d\u2019\u00e9quivalence co\u00fbteux. Les processus d\u2019octroi du permis d\u2019exercice partout au Canada restreignent le bassin de m\u00e9decins nouvellement arriv\u00e9s admissibles, tandis que les gouvernements provinciaux et territoriaux ont le pouvoir de limiter l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la pratique m\u00e9dicale. Par exemple, en 2025, le gouvernement de l\u2019Ontario visait \u00e0 restreindre l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux programmes de r\u00e9sidence aux personnes ayant fr\u00e9quent\u00e9 une \u00e9cole secondaire de la province pendant deux ans, dressant ainsi un obstacle majeur sur la principale voie d\u2019acc\u00e8s au permis d\u2019exercice pour les m\u00e9decins nouvellement arriv\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au Canada, les taux de r\u00e9ussite aux examens du permis d\u2019exercice des m\u00e9decins dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement inf\u00e9rieurs \u00e0 ceux des m\u00e9decins form\u00e9s au pays. Si certains doivent parfois perfectionner leurs comp\u00e9tences techniques, les \u00e9carts culturels et les barri\u00e8res de communication entrent \u00e9galement en ligne de compte. Ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments ne rel\u00e8vent souvent pas du champ d\u2019application des programmes d\u2019emploi et des pratiques d\u2019int\u00e9gration dans le secteur de la sant\u00e9. Les comp\u00e9tences socio-\u00e9motionnelles, telles que l\u2019interpr\u00e9tation de la communication non verbale, les interactions professionnelles et la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 culturelle envers les peuples autochtones et les autres patients au Canada, peuvent diff\u00e9rer de celles du pays d\u2019origine des nouveaux arrivants et ainsi freiner leur int\u00e9gration dans le syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 canadien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outre les exigences provinciales en mati\u00e8re d\u2019autorisation d\u2019exercice et de pratique, les professionnels de la sant\u00e9 nouvellement arriv\u00e9s ont de la difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 faire reconna\u00eetre leurs titres de comp\u00e9tences et leur exp\u00e9rience de travail \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger par les employeurs. Lorsque les m\u00e9decins d\u00e9butants trouvent un emploi dans le secteur de la sant\u00e9, ils sont souvent sous-employ\u00e9s. Moins d\u2019un tiers des 40&nbsp;000&nbsp;m\u00e9decins r\u00e9sidents permanents form\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger au Canada occupent des postes professionnels dans le domaine de la sant\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En raison de ces obstacles, les Canadiens ne peuvent pas profiter pleinement des comp\u00e9tences des m\u00e9decins nouvellement arriv\u00e9s. Le Canada est confront\u00e9 \u00e0 une grave p\u00e9nurie de m\u00e9decins, en particulier en m\u00e9decine familiale; le recours \u00e0 un plus grand nombre de nouveaux arrivants pourrait accro\u00eetre consid\u00e9rablement la capacit\u00e9 du r\u00e9seau de la sant\u00e9 afin de r\u00e9pondre aux besoins des Canadiens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour relever ces d\u00e9fis, l\u2019ACCES a lanc\u00e9 en 2024 le programme Health English Language Pro (HELP). Le programme a vu le jour sous la forme d\u2019une initiative b\u00e9n\u00e9vole men\u00e9e par la Dre Eva Grunfeld. L\u2019exp\u00e9rience enrichissante de la Dre Grunfeld, qui a aid\u00e9 un r\u00e9fugi\u00e9 syrien \u00e0 se pr\u00e9parer \u00e0 l\u2019obtention de son permis d\u2019exercice au Canada, l\u2019a incit\u00e9e \u00e0 mettre sur pied un programme visant \u00e0 soutenir les m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants provenant des quatre coins du monde. Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9tabli un lien avec ACCES Employment, l\u2019organisme et la Dre Grunfeld ont travaill\u00e9 en \u00e9troite collaboration avec divers intervenants du milieu m\u00e9dical, notamment des m\u00e9decins-conseils b\u00e9n\u00e9voles, afin de mettre sur pied le programme HELP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HELP soutient les m\u00e9decins form\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger (MFE) en am\u00e9liorant leurs comp\u00e9tences en communication m\u00e9dicale en anglais, leur sensibilisation culturelle et leurs aptitudes socio-\u00e9motionnelles gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des partenariats avec des m\u00e9decins b\u00e9n\u00e9voles. Le programme privil\u00e9gie un mod\u00e8le de partenariat entre pairs plut\u00f4t qu\u2019un mentorat traditionnel, en consid\u00e9rant les deux participants comme des professionnels de la sant\u00e9 qualifi\u00e9s. Le programme visait \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la diversit\u00e9 de la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre et les r\u00e9sultats sur le march\u00e9 du travail pour les m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un cadre antiraciste et \u00e0 une approche d\u2019analyse comparative entre les genres plus (ACS+) qui s\u2019attaquait aux in\u00e9galit\u00e9s syst\u00e9miques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9valuation s\u2019est appuy\u00e9e sur une analyse documentaire, des entretiens men\u00e9s par des chercheurs externes, des consultations et des sondages afin d\u2019\u00e9valuer l\u2019exp\u00e9rience des participants, les r\u00e9sultats en mati\u00e8re d\u2019inclusion, les obstacles au-del\u00e0 de l\u2019obtention du permis d\u2019exercice, la conformit\u00e9 avec les objectifs d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 et d\u2019inclusion, ainsi que les le\u00e7ons tir\u00e9es de la mise en \u0153uvre du programme.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"what-were-learning\" class=\"wp-block-ob-blocks-anchor-point\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column gradient-top purple is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color\" id=\"TheResult\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-240819\" style=\"width: 24px;height: 24px;margin-right: 10px;position: relative; top: -2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Fill-1-1.svg\" alt=\"\"> Ce que nous apprenons<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>60 m\u00e9decins b\u00e9n\u00e9voles et 60&nbsp;m\u00e9decins nouvellement arriv\u00e9s ont particip\u00e9 au programme HELP entre juin et novembre 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ce sont les obstacles financiers et les difficult\u00e9s li\u00e9es \u00e0 la navigation dans le syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9, et non les diff\u00e9rences linguistiques ou culturelles, qui constituent les principaux freins \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9gration des m\u00e9decins form\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger au sein de la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre m\u00e9dicale canadienne<br><\/strong>La plupart des MFE n\u2019ont pas consid\u00e9r\u00e9 les diff\u00e9rences linguistiques ou culturelles comme des d\u00e9fis majeurs; seuls 6\u00a0% d\u2019entre eux ont fait \u00e9tat d\u2019obstacles li\u00e9s \u00e0 la communication ou \u00e0 la culture, et aucun n\u2019a mentionn\u00e9 une ma\u00eetrise insuffisante de l\u2019anglais. En revanche, 63\u00a0% ignoraient l\u2019existence de programmes destin\u00e9s \u00e0 les soutenir, 78\u00a0% ne connaissaient pas le programme HELP avant d\u2019y participer, et 78\u00a0% ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 avoir tent\u00e9 en vain de communiquer avec des m\u00e9decins afin d\u2019obtenir des conseils et un soutien professionnel. Ces r\u00e9sultats sugg\u00e8rent que les principaux obstacles \u00e0 l\u2019obtention du permis d\u2019exercice et \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9gration au march\u00e9 du travail tiennent davantage au co\u00fbt, \u00e0 la complexit\u00e9 et \u00e0 la fragmentation du syst\u00e8me d\u2019octroi des permis qu\u2019\u00e0 la capacit\u00e9 des nouveaux arrivants \u00e0 exercer leur profession.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Le mod\u00e8le de partenariat entre pairs du programme HELP a favoris\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9tablissement de relations professionnelles significatives en consid\u00e9rant les m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants comme des coll\u00e8gues plut\u00f4t que comme des personnes mentor\u00e9es<br><\/strong>La quasi-totalit\u00e9 des m\u00e9decins b\u00e9n\u00e9voles (91\u00a0%) et des m\u00e9decins nouvellement arriv\u00e9s (90\u00a0%) ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que leur expertise \u00e9tait valoris\u00e9e au sein du partenariat. Une majorit\u00e9 de m\u00e9decins d\u00e9butants (76\u00a0%) et de b\u00e9n\u00e9voles (56\u00a0%) ont \u00e9galement indiqu\u00e9 qu\u2019ils se consid\u00e9raient comme des partenaires \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re du programme. Le niveau de satisfaction \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard du programme \u00e9tait \u00e9lev\u00e9 dans les deux groupes\u00a0: 82\u00a0% des m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants et 63\u00a0% des b\u00e9n\u00e9voles se sont dits tr\u00e8s satisfaits de leur exp\u00e9rience. Cela d\u00e9montre la capacit\u00e9 de programmes comme HELP \u00e0 mobiliser les participants en misant sur l\u2019expertise et l\u2019identit\u00e9 professionnelle existantes des nouveaux arrivants, plut\u00f4t que de les cantonner au r\u00f4le de simples b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaires de soutien. Le mod\u00e8le de partenariat entre pairs pourrait \u00e9galement contribuer \u00e0 favoriser l\u2019apprentissage mutuel et \u00e0 renforcer les liens professionnels, deux \u00e9l\u00e9ments essentiels \u00e0 une int\u00e9gration r\u00e9ussie au sein de la communaut\u00e9 m\u00e9dicale canadienne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Les activit\u00e9s interactives d\u2019apprentissage entre pairs et les jeux de r\u00f4le ont \u00e9t\u00e9 particuli\u00e8rement appr\u00e9ci\u00e9s<br><\/strong>Les \u00e9tudes de cas ont \u00e9t\u00e9 la ressource du programme HELP la plus grandement valoris\u00e9e\u00a0: 62\u00a0% des m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants et 45\u00a0% des m\u00e9decins b\u00e9n\u00e9voles les ont jug\u00e9es tr\u00e8s utiles. Apr\u00e8s avoir particip\u00e9 au programme, 97\u00a0% des m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 avoir gagn\u00e9 en confiance quant \u00e0 la communication m\u00e9dicale orale, et 95\u00a0% ont affirm\u00e9 mieux comprendre le syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 canadien. Le programme a \u00e9galement permis de renforcer les r\u00e9seaux professionnels des participants\u00a0: 100\u00a0% des m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 se sentir davantage int\u00e9gr\u00e9s au sein de la communaut\u00e9 m\u00e9dicale canadienne apr\u00e8s avoir suivi le programme. Les r\u00e9sultats du programme HELP indiquent que la pr\u00e9paration au milieu de travail s\u2019est av\u00e9r\u00e9e efficace gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des activit\u00e9s d\u2019apprentissage interactives et ax\u00e9es sur les relations, qui permettent aux m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants de mettre en pratique leurs comp\u00e9tences en communication et de se familiariser avec des situations professionnelles r\u00e9elles.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Le programme HELP a permis de renforcer la confiance des m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants, leur capacit\u00e9 d\u2019adaptation au milieu de travail et leur sentiment d\u2019appartenance au sein de la communaut\u00e9 m\u00e9dicale canadienne<br><\/strong>Apr\u00e8s avoir particip\u00e9 au programme, 97\u00a0% des m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 avoir gagn\u00e9 en confiance quant \u00e0 la communication m\u00e9dicale orale, et 95\u00a0% ont affirm\u00e9 mieux comprendre le syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 canadien. Le programme a \u00e9galement contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 tisser des liens professionnels\u00a0: 100\u00a0% des m\u00e9decins nouvellement arriv\u00e9s ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 se sentir davantage int\u00e9gr\u00e9s \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 m\u00e9dicale canadienne apr\u00e8s y avoir particip\u00e9. Ces r\u00e9sultats laissent entendre que l\u2019int\u00e9gration au march\u00e9 du travail ne se limite pas aux seules connaissances techniques ou \u00e0 la ma\u00eetrise de la langue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Le programme HELP a suscit\u00e9 un haut niveau de satisfaction chez les m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants, m\u00eame si les exp\u00e9riences ont pu varier selon les groupes d\u00e9mographiques<br><\/strong>Bien que les indicateurs globaux de satisfaction relatifs au programme HELP aient \u00e9t\u00e9 exceptionnellement \u00e9lev\u00e9s, 100\u00a0% des m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants ayant d\u00e9clar\u00e9 \u00eatre \u00ab\u00a0plut\u00f4t\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0tr\u00e8s\u00a0\u00bb satisfaits, une analyse d\u00e9taill\u00e9e des sous-groupes d\u00e9mographiques r\u00e9v\u00e8le des \u00e9carts notables dans l\u2019exp\u00e9rience des participants. La ventilation des donn\u00e9es de l\u2019enqu\u00eate selon le sexe, l\u2019\u00e2ge et l\u2019origine ethnique met en \u00e9vidence des \u00e9carts d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 sp\u00e9cifiques qui justifient des ajustements cibl\u00e9s aux programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les donn\u00e9es indiquent que le programme HELP s\u2019est r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 tr\u00e8s efficace pour les femmes m\u00e9decins form\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger (MFE), qui repr\u00e9sentaient la grande majorit\u00e9 (74&nbsp;%) des participantes. Environ 89&nbsp;% des participantes ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 \u00eatre \u00ab tr\u00e8s satisfaites \u00bb de leur exp\u00e9rience. En revanche, les hommes MFE ont affich\u00e9 des taux de satisfaction \u00e9lev\u00e9s plus faibles, 73&nbsp;% d\u2019entre eux se d\u00e9clarant \u00ab&nbsp;tr\u00e8s satisfaits.&nbsp;\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les taux de satisfaction variaient \u00e9galement selon les tranches d\u2019\u00e2ge. Les participants dans la trentaine constituaient le groupe le plus satisfait, 82&nbsp;% d\u2019entre eux se d\u00e9clarant \u00ab tr\u00e8s satisfaits \u00bb de l\u2019initiative. \u00c0 l\u2019inverse, les participants plus jeunes (dans la vingtaine) et les plus \u00e2g\u00e9s (dans la quarantaine et la cinquantaine) ont affich\u00e9 un taux de satisfaction tr\u00e8s \u00e9lev\u00e9e plus faible, s\u2019\u00e9levant \u00e0 67&nbsp;% au total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est en analysant la satisfaction des participants selon leur origine ethnique que l\u2019on a constat\u00e9 les \u00e9carts les plus marqu\u00e9s dans l\u2019exp\u00e9rience du programme. Alors que 92&nbsp;% des MFE s\u2019identifiant \u00e0 d\u2019autres groupes ethniques se sont dits \u00ab&nbsp;tr\u00e8s satisfaits&nbsp;\u00bb, seuls 57&nbsp;% des m\u00e9decins noirs nouveaux arrivants ont fait \u00e9tat du m\u00eame niveau de satisfaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mobiliser les m\u00e9decins \u00e0 la retraite r\u00e9pond \u00e0 un besoin mutuel<br><\/strong>Le programme a su tirer parti d\u2019une ressource humaine extr\u00eamement pr\u00e9cieuse, passionn\u00e9e et sous-exploit\u00e9e\u00a0: les m\u00e9decins canadiens \u00e0 la retraite. Les deux tiers (69\u00a0%) des b\u00e9n\u00e9voles \u00e9taient \u00e0 la retraite ou en pr\u00e9retraite. Le programme a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que les m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants accordent une grande importance aux occasions d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience professionnelle et de b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d\u2019un accompagnement pour s\u2019orienter dans le milieu des soins de sant\u00e9 canadien. Cependant, offrir des possibilit\u00e9s de r\u00e9seautage, am\u00e9liorer la ma\u00eetrise de l\u2019anglais m\u00e9dical et apporter un soutien ne constituent qu\u2019une solution partielle.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bon nombre des obstacles qui entravent l\u2019int\u00e9gration des MFE sur le march\u00e9 du travail sont d\u2019ordre syst\u00e9mique plut\u00f4t qu\u2019individuel. Les participants ont relev\u00e9 les pressions financi\u00e8res, le manque de clart\u00e9 quant aux \u00e9tapes menant \u00e0 l\u2019obtention du permis d\u2019exercice, l\u2019acc\u00e8s limit\u00e9 aux programmes de r\u00e9sidence et aux occasions de pratique supervis\u00e9e, ainsi que la difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 nouer des relations professionnelles comme \u00e9tant les principaux obstacles \u00e0 l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la profession. Ces relations peuvent contribuer non seulement \u00e0 renforcer la confiance et les comp\u00e9tences en communication, mais aussi \u00e0 consolider le capital social et \u00e0 accro\u00eetre le sentiment d\u2019appartenance au sein de la profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans l\u2019ensemble, le programme HELP d\u00e9montre que les mod\u00e8les de partenariat structur\u00e9s sont prometteurs et jouent un r\u00f4le important dans l\u2019int\u00e9gration des m\u00e9decins nouveaux arrivants.
