\u00e9l\u00e8ves canadiens ont d\u00fb passer brusquement \u00e0 l\u2019apprentissage en ligne, ce qui a perturb\u00e9 leur \u00e9ducation et ajout\u00e9 un stress \u00e0 de nombreux parents. En outre, les candidats \u00e0 l\u2019enseignement ont eu du mal \u00e0 effectuer leurs heures de b\u00e9n\u00e9volat requises. Pour rem\u00e9dier \u00e0 ces probl\u00e8mes, le Diversity Institute et ses partenaires, avec le soutien du Centre des comp\u00e9tences futures, ont lanc\u00e9 le programme Study Buddy en mai&nbsp;2020. Cette initiative de tutorat en ligne gratuit vise \u00e0 soutenir les \u00e9l\u00e8ves, en particulier les \u00e9l\u00e8ves noirs, racis\u00e9s et nouvellement arriv\u00e9s, tout en offrant des possibilit\u00e9s d\u2019apprentissage int\u00e9gr\u00e9 au travail pour les candidats \u00e0 l\u2019enseignement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le programme Study Buddy met en relation les familles, les enfants de la maternelle \u00e0 la 12<sup>e<\/sup>&nbsp;ann\u00e9e et les candidats \u00e0 l\u2019enseignement. Il avait trois objectifs&nbsp;: l\u2019acquisition de comp\u00e9tences chez les enfants et les jeunes, en particulier ceux issus des communaut\u00e9s noires, autochtones, racis\u00e9es et immigrantes; l\u2019acquisition de comp\u00e9tences chez les \u00e9tudiants de niveau postsecondaire (tuteurs); et l\u2019acquisition de comp\u00e9tences et le renforcement des capacit\u00e9s des parents et des tuteurs. Le programme a pris en charge 684&nbsp;\u00e9l\u00e8ves issus de 451&nbsp;familles et fait intervenir 331&nbsp;tuteurs qui ont consacr\u00e9 plus de 8&nbsp;600&nbsp;heures \u00e0 plus de 12&nbsp;800&nbsp;s\u00e9ances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Les \u00e9valuations r\u00e9alis\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019enqu\u00eates et les donn\u00e9es de la plateforme num\u00e9rique ont montr\u00e9 des effets positifs sur les parents, les \u00e9l\u00e8ves et les tuteurs. Les parents ont vu leur stress diminuer et leur espoir augmenter, tandis que les \u00e9l\u00e8ves ont eu acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des ressources p\u00e9dagogiques de qualit\u00e9 et v\u00e9cu des exp\u00e9riences sociales constructives. Les tuteurs ont renforc\u00e9 leurs comp\u00e9tences et leur formation professionnelle. Le succ\u00e8s du programme Study Buddy a donn\u00e9 lieu \u00e0 plusieurs recommandations, dont la reconnaissance de la valeur du tutorat, l\u2019application d\u2019une perspective d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9, de diversit\u00e9 et d\u2019inclusion aux programmes de tutorat, l\u2019\u00e9tude des effets g\u00e9n\u00e9raux des activit\u00e9s de soutien en faveur des \u00e9l\u00e8ves et des familles, l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de la formation des tuteurs et l\u2019utilisation des nouvelles technologies tout en tenant compte de la fracture num\u00e9rique. Ces efforts sont essentiels pour faire progresser l\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 dans l\u2019\u00e9ducation et garantir le bien-\u00eatre social et \u00e9conomique \u00e0 long terme au Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group key-insights-grey has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"background-color:#0000000d\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Perspectives cl\u00e9s<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default is-flex\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-243230\" style=\"width: 40px;margin-right: 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/No.svg\" alt=\"\">La quasi-totalit\u00e9 (90\u00a0%) des parents et des tuteurs a reconnu que le programme avait aid\u00e9 leur enfant \u00e0 acqu\u00e9rir des comp\u00e9tences importantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-flex\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-243230\" style=\"width: 40px; margin-right: 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/No-1.svg\" alt=\"\">Environ 85\u00a0% des tuteurs ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 avoir acquis de nouvelles comp\u00e9tences en mati\u00e8re d\u2019enseignement et d\u2019apprentissage dans le cadre du programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-flex\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-243230\" style=\"width: 40px; margin-right: 16px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/No-2.svg\" alt=\"\">La majorit\u00e9 des parents et des tuteurs ont reconnu que le programme avait aid\u00e9 les \u00e9l\u00e8ves \u00e0 se sentir plus \u00e0 l\u2019aise avec l\u2019apprentissage en ligne, moins anxieux et stress\u00e9s, plus optimistes quant \u00e0 l\u2019avenir et plus confiants dans leurs comp\u00e9tences de gestion du temps tout, en les aidant \u00e0 mieux ma\u00eetriser leur travail scolaire et leur emploi du temps.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"the-issue\" class=\"wp-block-ob-blocks-anchor-point\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column gradient-top purple is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color\" id=\"TheChallenge\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-240812\" style=\"width: 12px;height: 24px;margin-right: 10px;position: relative; top: -2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Vector-2.svg\" alt=\"\"> L\u2019enjeu<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group flex-print is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Les \u00e9l\u00e8ves racis\u00e9s et marginalis\u00e9s, ainsi que les nouveaux arrivants, rencontrent de nombreux obstacles qui se traduisent par des r\u00e9percussions n\u00e9gatives sur leur r\u00e9ussite scolaire et leurs perspectives \u00e9conomiques \u00e0 long terme. Les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s en mati\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9ducation que subissent les \u00e9l\u00e8ves noirs transparaissent dans les \u00e9carts entre leurs taux d\u2019obtention de dipl\u00f4mes et d\u2019abandon scolaire et ceux des \u00e9l\u00e8ves blancs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9tude de l\u2019impact des perturbations de la vie scolaire li\u00e9es \u00e0 la pand\u00e9mie de COVID-19 a mis en \u00e9vidence un manque d\u2019investissement multidimensionnel au sein des \u00e9tablissements scolaires, lequel a eu des r\u00e9percussions n\u00e9gatives sur les r\u00e9sultats d\u2019apprentissage des \u00e9l\u00e8ves et sur leur bien-\u00eatre \u00e9motionnel. L\u2019analyse des effets de la pand\u00e9mie sur les r\u00e9sultats d\u2019apprentissage r\u00e9v\u00e8le que les \u00e9l\u00e8ves issus de groupes qui se trouvaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 en proie \u00e0 des difficult\u00e9s avant la pand\u00e9mie se sont heurt\u00e9s \u00e0 des obstacles plus importants encore, \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 qu\u2019ils sont moins susceptibles de poss\u00e9der les bases n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 la r\u00e9ussite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La fermeture des \u00e9tablissements scolaires pendant la pand\u00e9mie a particuli\u00e8rement affect\u00e9 les familles, en particulier les m\u00e8res de famille actives. En effet, une femme sur trois au Canada a envisag\u00e9 <a href=\"https:\/\/canadianprosperityproject.ca\/one-third-of-canadian-women-consider-quitting-jobs-fr\/\">de quitter son emploi<\/a>. Les familles appartenant aux groupes en qu\u00eate d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mises \u00e0 rude \u00e9preuve par la conjonction de multiples facteurs de stress, qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 aggrav\u00e9s par la fermeture des \u00e9coles et des services de garde d\u2019enfants, le fardeau repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par les t\u00e2ches domestiques non r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9es, et l\u2019in\u00e9galit\u00e9 d\u2019acc\u00e8s aux dispositifs de soutien des infrastructures essentielles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour r\u00e9soudre ces probl\u00e8mes rencontr\u00e9s par les \u00e9l\u00e8ves et leurs familles, une strat\u00e9gie \u00e9prouv\u00e9e s\u2019imposait. Le tutorat individualis\u00e9 est l\u2019une des strat\u00e9gies d\u2019intervention les plus efficaces; il permet d\u2019augmenter le nombre des \u00e9l\u00e8ves qui travaillent \u00e0 un rythme plus soutenu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le programme Study Buddy a rassembl\u00e9 les parties prenantes (parents et tuteurs, \u00e9tudiants, et de repr\u00e9sentants de communaut\u00e9s, de services communautaires et d\u2019\u00e9tablissements d\u2019enseignement) afin de fournir un soutien \u00e9ducatif aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves en qu\u00eate d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 pendant la pand\u00e9mie de COVID-19. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9 en mai 2020 par le Diversity Institute, en collaboration avec l\u2019Universit\u00e9 technologique de l\u2019Ontario, le Jean Augustine Centre et le Lifelong Leadership Institute, ainsi que d\u2019autres universit\u00e9s, organismes communautaires et \u00e9coles, et avec le soutien du Centre des comp\u00e9tences futures. En raison de son succ\u00e8s initial, le programme Study Buddy a \u00e9t\u00e9 prolong\u00e9 en 2022, en partenariat avec le Peel District School Board (conseil scolaire de district de Peel) et la province de l\u2019Ontario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les \u00e9l\u00e8ves de la maternelle \u00e0 la 12<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0ann\u00e9e ont \u00e9t\u00e9 recrut\u00e9s dans le cadre du programme par l\u2019interm\u00e9diaire d\u2019organismes partenaires en relation avec des familles appartenant \u00e0 des groupes en qu\u00eate d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9. Les tuteurs des \u00e9l\u00e8ves \u00e9taient choisis en fonction de leur expertise et ceux-ci ont eu acc\u00e8s \u00e0 une plateforme de tutorat en ligne dot\u00e9e d\u2019un tableau interactif, de fonctionnalit\u00e9s de vid\u00e9oconf\u00e9rence et d\u2019audioconf\u00e9rence, ainsi que de modules de contenu. Ils ont pu b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d\u2019une aide aux devoirs et de le\u00e7ons individualis\u00e9es en t\u00eate-\u00e0-t\u00eate \u00e0 hauteur de trois heures par semaine sous la supervision de professionnels d\u00fbment form\u00e9s et qualifi\u00e9s. Le programme s\u2019int\u00e9ressait particuli\u00e8rement aux enfants noirs, racis\u00e9s et autochtones. Le programme s\u2019est pench\u00e9 sur les effets diff\u00e9renci\u00e9s de la pand\u00e9mie de COVID-19 sur trois groupes sp\u00e9cifiques&nbsp;: les enfants, les parents et les candidats \u00e0 l\u2019enseignement. Il a permis d\u2019offrir aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves de la maternelle \u00e0 la 12<sup>e<\/sup>&nbsp;ann\u00e9e des services de tutorat en ligne, gratuits et individualis\u00e9s gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019apprentissage virtuel \u00e0 distance. Les parents ont re\u00e7u du soutien pendant cette p\u00e9riode difficile. En fournissant des services de tutorat, les \u00e9tudiants-enseignants ont pu effectuer leurs heures de stage pour remplir les conditions d\u2019obtention de leur dipl\u00f4me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour comprendre l\u2019incidence du programme Study Buddy sur les \u00e9l\u00e8ves, leurs parents ou tuteurs, et leurs enseignants, deux enqu\u00eates ont \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9es&nbsp;: une enqu\u00eate pr\u00e9alable au programme r\u00e9alis\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tape de l\u2019inscription et une enqu\u00eate de satisfaction r\u00e9alis\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019issue du programme&nbsp;\u2013 aupr\u00e8s de quatre cohortes compos\u00e9es des parents et des tuteurs, sur la p\u00e9riode allant de septembre 2020 \u00e0 d\u00e9cembre 2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Diversity Institute a examin\u00e9 les donn\u00e9es d\u2019utilisateurs afin d\u2019\u00e9valuer la capacit\u00e9 du programme \u00e0 soutenir efficacement les \u00e9l\u00e8ves et leurs familles et \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer les perspectives de formation des \u00e9l\u00e8ves ainsi que d\u2019\u00e9valuer l\u2019incidence du programme sur les comp\u00e9tences des tuteurs. Ces donn\u00e9es ont \u00e9galement servi \u00e0 analyser l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 du tutorat individualis\u00e9 dans la r\u00e9duction des \u00e9carts en mati\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 en \u00e9ducation pour les \u00e9l\u00e8ves issus de groupes en qu\u00eate d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"what-were-learning\" class=\"wp-block-ob-blocks-anchor-point\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column gradient-top purple is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color\" id=\"TheResult\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-240819\" style=\"width: 24px;height: 24px;margin-right: 10px;position: relative; top: -2px;\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Fill-1-1.svg\" alt=\"\"> Ce que nous apprenons<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Parmi les 302&nbsp;\u00e9l\u00e8ves issus de 247&nbsp;familles qui ont b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 de ces services, 57,3&nbsp;% \u00e9taient des filles et 42,4&nbsp;% des gar\u00e7ons. En outre, sur les 214&nbsp;enfants qui se sont auto-identifi\u00e9s, 85&nbsp;% \u00e9taient des personnes racis\u00e9es, 14&nbsp;% \u00e9taient de nouveaux arrivants arriv\u00e9s au pays depuis moins de cinq ans et 5,6&nbsp;% \u00e9taient des personnes en situation de handicap.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats de l\u2019enqu\u00eate montrent que les \u00e9l\u00e8ves et leurs parents ou tuteurs ont trouv\u00e9 le programme utile. La grande majorit\u00e9 (91&nbsp;%) des parents et tuteurs participants ont reconnu que leur enfant abordait de mani\u00e8re plus sereine leur travail scolaire. De plus, 90&nbsp;% ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que leur enfant avait acquis des comp\u00e9tences importantes et 89&nbsp;% se sont sentis plus soutenus et ont cr\u00e9\u00e9 des liens. Parmi les personnes interrog\u00e9es, 94&nbsp;%&nbsp;ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que l\u2019exp\u00e9rience de leur enfant dans le programme avait \u00e9t\u00e9 utile, 92&nbsp;% l\u2019ont trouv\u00e9e agr\u00e9able et 91&nbsp;% ont estim\u00e9 qu\u2019elle r\u00e9pondait \u00e0 leurs besoins. Les parents et tuteurs ont reconnu que les \u00e9l\u00e8ves avaient acquis des comp\u00e9tences en mati\u00e8re de r\u00e9solution de probl\u00e8mes et de prise de d\u00e9cision (85&nbsp;%), que leur enfant avait acquis des comp\u00e9tences interpersonnelles (82&nbsp;%) et que le programme avait permis aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir des comp\u00e9tences techniques (79&nbsp;%). Moins de 10&nbsp;% d\u2019entre eux ont trouv\u00e9 le programme stressant ou difficile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019analyse de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience des tuteurs a montr\u00e9 qu\u2019ils ont \u00e9galement trouv\u00e9 le programme b\u00e9n\u00e9fique. Parmi les 84&nbsp;tuteurs qui ont r\u00e9pondu au questionnaire de satisfaction relatif au programme Study Buddy, 99&nbsp;% ont estim\u00e9 que le programme \u00e9tait utile pour les \u00e9l\u00e8ves, et 96&nbsp;% ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu\u2019il \u00e9tait utile pour les familles des \u00e9l\u00e8ves. En ce qui concerne les comp\u00e9tences, 85&nbsp;% des tuteurs ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 avoir acquis des comp\u00e9tences en mati\u00e8re d\u2019enseignement et d\u2019apprentissage; ils ont aussi reconnu que le programme leur avait permis d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir de nouvelles comp\u00e9tences. Pendant la pand\u00e9mie, les obstacles syst\u00e9miques du syst\u00e8me d\u2019\u00e9ducation ont \u00e9t\u00e9 aggrav\u00e9s par un manque de soutien et de ressources adapt\u00e9s aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves. Les parents et les tuteurs charg\u00e9s de r\u00e9pondre aux besoins scolaires de leurs enfants dans un cadre virtuel ont eu du mal \u00e0 acc\u00e9der aux services de soutien scolaire tout en remplissant leurs propres obligations quotidiennes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le programme Study Buddy a r\u00e9pondu avec succ\u00e8s aux besoins des \u00e9l\u00e8ves en qu\u00eate d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 et de leurs familles pendant la pand\u00e9mie de COVID-19. Il a \u00e9galement repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une occasion pr\u00e9cieuse d\u2019apprentissage int\u00e9gr\u00e9e au travail pour les \u00e9tudiants-enseignants, ce qui a permis de renforcer leurs comp\u00e9tences. L\u2019int\u00e9gration dans le programme d\u2019un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de partenaires apportant chacun leur expertise particuli\u00e8re, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse de la connaissance d\u2019une communaut\u00e9 en qu\u00eate d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9, d\u2019une expertise en enseignement ou de la gestion d\u2019un programme, a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9terminante pour la r\u00e9ussite de ce projet.
