explor\u00e9 les d\u00e9fis en mati\u00e8re d\u2019emploi et les perspectives de r\u00e9tablissement des nouvelles arrivantes dans le Nord-Ouest de l\u2019Ontario apr\u00e8s la COVID-19. Men\u00e9e dans des r\u00e9gions rurales et urbaines, l\u2019\u00e9tude a comport\u00e9 66&nbsp;entrevues et des sondages aupr\u00e8s de plus de 5\u2009000&nbsp;r\u00e9sidentes du Nord-Ouest de l\u2019Ontario. L\u2019\u00e9tude a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7ue pour \u00e9valuer l\u2019impact de la pand\u00e9mie sur les possibilit\u00e9s d\u2019emploi de ces femmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats r\u00e9v\u00e8lent que de nombreuses femmes interrog\u00e9es se concentrent sur l\u2019obtention d\u2019une stabilit\u00e9 financi\u00e8re pour subvenir \u00e0 leurs besoins et \u00e0 ceux de leur famille, ce qui se fait au d\u00e9triment de leur croissance professionnelle \u00e0 long terme. Elles \u00e9prouvent souvent de la difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 int\u00e9grer le march\u00e9 du travail canadien en raison de l\u2019inad\u00e9quation entre les comp\u00e9tences g\u00e9n\u00e9rales qu\u2019elles poss\u00e8dent et celles recherch\u00e9es par les employeurs canadiens, ainsi que d\u2019une connaissance limit\u00e9e de la r\u00e9glementation canadienne en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 au travail. De nombreuses nouvelles arrivantes jonglent avec plusieurs emplois et des t\u00e2ches de soins non r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9es et ont exprim\u00e9 un fort d\u00e9sir de poursuivre leurs \u00e9tudes et leur formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La recherche met en \u00e9vidence la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de mettre en place des syst\u00e8mes de soutien adapt\u00e9s pour faciliter l\u2019int\u00e9gration au march\u00e9 du travail canadien. Les recommandations comprennent la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019environnements de travail inclusifs avec une int\u00e9gration exhaustive, l\u2019offre de formation sur les lois du travail canadiennes et de mettre l\u2019accent sur le d\u00e9veloppement des comp\u00e9tences g\u00e9n\u00e9rales. L\u2019\u00e9tude souligne l\u2019importance de collaborer avec les organismes locaux, en particulier dans les r\u00e9gions \u00e9loign\u00e9es, pour assurer une sensibilisation et un soutien efficaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En outre, il est urgent de r\u00e9clamer des changements syst\u00e9miques pour lutter contre la discrimination, le sous-emploi et les probl\u00e8mes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 qui touchent de mani\u00e8re disproportionn\u00e9e les nouvelles arrivantes. Les r\u00e9sultats incitent les organisations et les responsables de politiques \u00e0 mettre l\u2019accent sur l\u2019inclusion et le soutien, qui sont essentiels pour am\u00e9liorer l\u2019int\u00e9gration en milieu de travail et favoriser un sentiment d\u2019appartenance et de productivit\u00e9 chez les nouvelles arrivantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Cette \u00e9tude attire non seulement l\u2019attention sur les obstacles auxquels ces femmes sont confront\u00e9es, mais fournit \u00e9galement des recommandations concr\u00e8tes aux employeurs, aux responsables de politiques et aux organismes communautaires. L\u2019\u00e9cart de gains entre les immigrantes et les femmes n\u00e9es au Canada s\u2019est en fait creus\u00e9 <a href=\"https:\/\/www150.statcan.gc.ca\/n1\/pub\/36-28-0001\/2021004\/article\/00004-fra.htm\">au fil du temps<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La COVID-19 et les restrictions qu\u2019elle a provoqu\u00e9 ont exacerb\u00e9 cette situation. Les nouvelles arrivantes \u00e9taient surrepr\u00e9sent\u00e9es dans les professions jug\u00e9es essentielles, ce qui les exposait \u00e0 des heures suppl\u00e9mentaires obligatoires et \u00e0 des risques accrus pour la sant\u00e9. L\u2019\u00e9tude visait \u00e0 identifier les comp\u00e9tences n\u00e9cessaires, \u00e0 explorer les effets de la pand\u00e9mie et \u00e0 \u00e9laborer des strat\u00e9gies de r\u00e9silience et de r\u00e9tablissement. Une \u00e9tude comparative longitudinale a \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9e en milieu rural et urbain afin d\u2019\u00e9valuer l\u2019impact sur la participation des nouvelles arrivantes au march\u00e9 du travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La m\u00e9thodologie de recherche a comport\u00e9 66&nbsp;entrevues r\u00e9alis\u00e9es sur deux ans pour suivre l\u2019\u00e9volution de la situation d\u2019emploi, ainsi qu\u2019une s\u00e9rie de sondages aupr\u00e8s de plus de 5\u2009000&nbsp;r\u00e9sidentes du Nord-Ouest de l\u2019Ontario. Cette approche a permis de mieux comprendre les obstacles \u00e0 l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 un emploi valorisant et a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9laboration de strat\u00e9gies adapt\u00e9es pour am\u00e9liorer les r\u00e9sultats pour les nouvelles arrivantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet s\u2019est appuy\u00e9 sur des partenariats avec des communaut\u00e9s et des organismes locaux pour rejoindre efficacement les nouvelles arrivantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet visait \u00e0 fournir des id\u00e9es et des recommandations pour soutenir l\u2019int\u00e9gration des nouvelles arrivantes au march\u00e9 du travail. L\u2019\u00e9tude a soulign\u00e9 l\u2019importance de cr\u00e9er des milieux de travail plus inclusifs en am\u00e9liorant les processus d\u2019int\u00e9gration et en offrant des possibilit\u00e9s de formation, ce qui non seulement soutient les nouvelles arrivantes, mais stimule \u00e9galement la productivit\u00e9 et la diversit\u00e9 globales dans le milieu du travail. Ces r\u00e9sultats font \u00e9cho \u00e0 ceux d\u2019autres projets financ\u00e9s par le Centre des Comp\u00e9tences futures sur l\u2019utilit\u00e9 de la formation sur la culture du milieu de travail canadien pour acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer l\u2019int\u00e9gration au march\u00e9 du travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Les partenariats organisationnels aident \u00e0 rejoindre et \u00e0 soutenir les personnes nouvellement arriv\u00e9es<\/strong><br>La collaboration avec divers organismes, en particulier dans les r\u00e9gions rurales et \u00e9loign\u00e9es, a \u00e9t\u00e9 essentielle pour rejoindre efficacement les nouvelles arrivantes qui ont particip\u00e9 \u00e0 la recherche et pour leur fournir un soutien continu. La n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de disposer de structures organisationnelles souples et adaptables pour maintenir des partenariats efficaces entre les organisations afin de faciliter un appui coordonn\u00e9 a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 soulign\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Les nouvelles arrivantes suivent une formation malgr\u00e9 le peu de temps dont elles disposent<\/strong><br>Plus de 3\u2009000&nbsp;t\u00e9moignages ont \u00e9t\u00e9 recueillis dans le cadre du sondage de la premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e. Environ le tiers de ces t\u00e9moignages concernent des femmes qui travaillaient plus de 40&nbsp;heures par semaine \u00e0 leur emploi principal, en plus de t\u00e2ches de soins non r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9es et parfois d\u2019un emploi secondaire. Presque toutes investissaient de 10 \u00e0 30&nbsp;heures et plus par semaine dans la formation continue ou le d\u00e9veloppement des comp\u00e9tences. De plus, 85&nbsp;% des participantes ont exprim\u00e9 leur intention de se recycler ou de retourner aux \u00e9tudes. Le sondage de la deuxi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e, comprenant plus de 2\u2009000&nbsp;t\u00e9moignages, a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 un changement dans la situation d\u2019emploi. Alors que 76,9&nbsp;% des immigrantes occupaient un emploi \u00e0 temps plein, un nombre important d\u2019entre elles \u00e9taient mises \u00e0 pied temporairement ou cherchaient activement du travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Les nouvelles arrivantes sont plus nombreuses \u00e0 avoir des pr\u00e9occupations concernant la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 au travail que les femmes n\u00e9es au Canada<\/strong><br>Une constatation inqui\u00e9tante est que 7,8&nbsp;% des nouvelles arrivantes ne se sentaient pas en s\u00e9curit\u00e9 au travail, comparativement \u00e0 6,2&nbsp;% des femmes n\u00e9es au Canada, ce qui met en \u00e9vidence une lacune dans les pratiques de sant\u00e9 et de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 au travail. Les recommandations appellent \u00e0 des changements syst\u00e9miques pour s\u2019attaquer \u00e0 la discrimination, au sous-emploi et aux probl\u00e8mes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 en milieu de travail.
