de personnes qu\u2019elles emploient a fortement augment\u00e9 du fait des fermetures d\u2019entreprises et des pertes d\u2019emplois reli\u00e9es \u00e0 la COVID-19. Trop peu de donn\u00e9es sont disponibles sur les conditions de travail dans l\u2019\u00e9conomie \u00e0 la demande, en particulier pour des groupes particuliers de professionnels, comme les personnes vivant avec un handicap.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce projet a examin\u00e9 les ouvrages consacr\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande et a exploit\u00e9 les connaissances acquises pour mener des entretiens semi-structur\u00e9s avec un petit groupe de Canadiens handicap\u00e9s engag\u00e9s dans l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les constatations de l\u2019\u00e9tude et des entretiens ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que de nombreuses personnes vivant avec un handicap se sentent pouss\u00e9es vers l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande par le manque d\u2019autres possibilit\u00e9s d\u2019emploi. Malgr\u00e9 l\u2019instabilit\u00e9 financi\u00e8re, le manque d\u2019avantages et la discrimination qui accompagnent l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande pour les personnes handicap\u00e9es, la majorit\u00e9 des personnes interrog\u00e9es dans le cadre de ce projet ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu\u2019elles pr\u00e9f\u00e9raient l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande en raison de la flexibilit\u00e9 qu\u2019il offre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Les constatations de ce projet fournissent aux d\u00e9cideurs politiques et aux employeurs davantage de donn\u00e9es sur l\u2019\u00e9volution de la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre travaillant \u00e0 la demande et sur la situation des personnes vivant avec un handicap. Le terme \u00ab\u2009\u00e9conomie \u00e0 la demande\u2009\u00bb fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 un moyen de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des revenus sur une courte p\u00e9riode, bas\u00e9 sur des t\u00e2ches, qui diff\u00e8re des contrats temporaires et de la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019une entreprise. Dans le monde de l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande, les employ\u00e9s sont r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9s \u00e0 la t\u00e2che ou \u00e0 l\u2019heure et exercent des activit\u00e9s tr\u00e8s diverses, allant du transport \u00e0 la conception graphique. Les personnes ayant un emploi \u00e0 la demande peuvent \u00eatre bas\u00e9es n\u2019importe o\u00f9 dans le monde et travaillent souvent pour des clients internationaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selon les estimations, les emplois \u00e0 la demande repr\u00e9senteraient environ 10&nbsp;% de la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre actuelle au Canada et fourniraient un large \u00e9ventail de services dont de nombreuses personnes sont devenues d\u00e9pendantes. Les emplois \u00e0 la demande ne semblent pas \u00eatre sur le point de dispara\u00eetre. Toutefois, les conditions de travail dans l\u2019\u00e9conomie \u00e0 la demande suscitent des craintes. Cela reste particuli\u00e8rement vrai dans le contexte des professionnels handicap\u00e9s, qui sont confront\u00e9s \u00e0 un ensemble diff\u00e9rent de d\u00e9fis et n\u2019ont pas acc\u00e8s aux m\u00eames opportunit\u00e9s d\u2019emploi que les professionnels non handicap\u00e9s. Comment le travail dans l\u2019\u00e9conomie \u00e0 la demande influence-t-il la sant\u00e9 et le bien-\u00eatre des Canadiens handicap\u00e9s\u2009? Quelles sont les diff\u00e9rences dans l\u2019exp\u00e9rience v\u00e9cue en fonction du statut g\u00e9n\u00e9rationnel, du sexe, de la race et\/ou du statut d\u2019immigrant\u2009?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quels sont les obstacles et les possibilit\u00e9s qui s\u2019offrent aux personnes handicap\u00e9es dans le cadre de l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande\u2009?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quelles sont les interventions du gouvernement et du secteur priv\u00e9 qui prot\u00e8gent la sant\u00e9 et le bien-\u00eatre des professionnels handicap\u00e9s au Canada\u2009?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ces questions, le projet a proc\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e0 un examen exploratoire des ouvrages consacr\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande et aux personnes vivant avec un handicap, afin de d\u00e9terminer les th\u00e8mes abord\u00e9s et les lacunes \u00e0 combler. Les constatations de l\u2019examen exploratoire ont servi de base \u00e0 des entretiens semi-structur\u00e9s avec des personnes vivant avec un handicap et travaillant dans l\u2019\u00e9conomie \u00e0 la demande au Canada.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"what-were-learning\" class=\"wp-block-ob-blocks-anchor-point\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column gradient-top purple is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color\" id=\"TheResult\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-240819\" style=\"width: 24px;height: 24px;margin-right: 10px;position: relative;top: -2px\" src=\"https:\/\/fsc-ccf.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Fill-1-1.svg\" alt=\"\"> <strong>Ce que nous apprenons<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet a interrog\u00e9 21 personnes vivant avec un handicap qui travaillaient \u00e0 la demande. Ces exp\u00e9riences ont corrobor\u00e9 bon nombre des th\u00e8mes qui se sont d\u00e9gag\u00e9s de l\u2019\u00e9tude exploratoire, qui a synth\u00e9tis\u00e9 les r\u00e9sultats de 57 articles publi\u00e9s entre 2002 et 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pouss\u00e9s vers l\u2019\u00e9conomie \u00e0 la demande par manque d\u2019options. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bien que des th\u00e8mes positifs aient \u00e9merg\u00e9 des entretiens, dans l\u2019ensemble, les personnes interrog\u00e9es avaient plus de points n\u00e9gatifs que positifs \u00e0 dire sur le travail dans l\u2019\u00e9conomie \u00e0 la demande. La plupart d\u2019entre eux se sont sentis pouss\u00e9s vers l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande par manque d\u2019options d\u2019emploi, plut\u00f4t que d\u2019\u00eatre attir\u00e9s par ce domaine. Cette constatation corrobore d\u2019autres recherches qui indiquent que les choix en mati\u00e8re d\u2019emploi sont limit\u00e9s pour de nombreuses personnes vivant avec un handicap. Parmi ceux qui ont r\u00e9fl\u00e9chi \u00e0 cette question, 84&nbsp;% (n=16) ont estim\u00e9 qu\u2019ils avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 pouss\u00e9s vers l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande en raison d\u2019un manque d\u2019emplois appropri\u00e9s et adapt\u00e9s \u00e0 leurs besoins. Malgr\u00e9 le sentiment que de nombreuses personnes handicap\u00e9es sont pouss\u00e9es vers l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande, la majorit\u00e9 des personnes interrog\u00e9es dans le cadre de ce projet ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu\u2019elles pr\u00e9f\u00e9raient ce type d\u2019emploi, citant le plus souvent la flexibilit\u00e9 offerte par ce type d\u2019emploi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Les inconv\u00e9nients de l\u2019\u00e9conomie \u00e0 la demande pour les personnes vivant avec un handicap. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les personnes interrog\u00e9es ont exprim\u00e9 leur m\u00e9contentement face \u00e0 l\u2019absence de protections et d\u2019avantages disponibles dans l\u2019\u00e9conomie \u00e0 la demande, et la plupart d\u2019entre elles ont estim\u00e9 que le travail n\u2019\u00e9tait pas financi\u00e8rement viable en raison de son impr\u00e9visibilit\u00e9. Cela corrobore les \u00e9tudes r\u00e9centes sur l\u2019\u00e9conomie \u00e0 la demande qui se font l\u2019\u00e9cho de l\u2019instabilit\u00e9 financi\u00e8re d\u00e9crite par les personnes interrog\u00e9es et de ses cons\u00e9quences sur la sant\u00e9 mentale et physique. Le besoin d\u2019avantages sociaux et d\u2019acc\u00e8s aux cong\u00e9s pay\u00e9s est \u00e9galement bien document\u00e9 dans les ouvrages existants, o\u00f9 ces inconv\u00e9nients sont d\u00e9clar\u00e9s encore plus critiques que l\u2019insuffisance des revenus. Comme l\u2019a indiqu\u00e9 une personne interrog\u00e9e, les personnes ayant un emploi \u00e0 la demande et ayant un handicap sont souvent celles qui ont le plus besoin de prestations m\u00e9dicales, parce qu\u2019elles doivent g\u00e9rer des probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 permanents et qu\u2019elles ont peu de revenus pour couvrir elles-m\u00eames les co\u00fbts externes reli\u00e9s \u00e0 leur handicap.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facteurs d\u2019attraction des personnes vivant avec un handicap vers l\u2019\u00e9conomie \u00e0 la demande.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les personnes interrog\u00e9es appr\u00e9cient certains aspects de l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande, notamment la flexibilit\u00e9, l\u2019autonomie accrue, les horaires de travail flexibles et la possibilit\u00e9 de tirer parti de leurs comp\u00e9tences et de leurs points forts uniques. Cela corrobore les r\u00e9sultats d\u2019autres recherches sur les avantages de la flexibilit\u00e9 et de l\u2019autonomie qu\u2019offre l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande et sur la mani\u00e8re dont ces libert\u00e9s peuvent favoriser la sant\u00e9 et l\u2019int\u00e9gration de la vie professionnelle et de la vie priv\u00e9e.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Il est fr\u00e9quent que les personnes handicap\u00e9es soient victimes de discrimination dans le cadre de l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pr\u00e8s de la moiti\u00e9 des personnes handicap\u00e9es interrog\u00e9es dans le cadre de ce projet (n=10, 48&nbsp;%) ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 \u00eatre victimes de discrimination dans l\u2019\u00e9conomie de l\u2019emploi \u00e0 la demande en raison de leur handicap. Il s\u2019agit notamment de cas o\u00f9 le travail en cours a \u00e9t\u00e9 interrompu lorsque le client s\u2019est rendu compte que la personne travaillant \u00e0 la demane \u00e9tait handicap\u00e9e, d\u2019un sentiment d\u2019\u00e9tonnement de la part des clients face \u00e0 un travail de qualit\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par une personne vivant avec un handicap, ou de d\u00e9clarations insinuant que les produits livrables n\u2019\u00e9taient pas prioritaires parce qu\u2019ils \u00e9taient g\u00e9r\u00e9s par une personne vivant avec un handicap. Selon le type de handicap dont est atteint un individu, l\u2019option de travailler \u00e0 la demande peut \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme une solution bienvenue ou comme une solution de dernier recours. Il peut offrir une certaine flexibilit\u00e9, mais souvent au d\u00e9triment de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 du revenu. L\u2019absence de revenus pr\u00e9visibles et fiables et l\u2019absence d\u2019avantages sociaux signifient que les personne travaillant \u00e0 la demande et vivant avec un handicap peuvent \u00eatre moins en mesure de s\u2019offrir le traitement et les soins n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 leur handicap que les personnes travaillant \u00e0 la demande et vivant avec un handicap qui ont un emploi normal et stable. Ironiquement, le monde du travail traditionnel qui rejette le plus souvent les personnes handicap\u00e9es est celui-l\u00e0 m\u00eame qui offre la couverture de l\u2019invalidit\u00e9 de longue dur\u00e9e et la meilleure assurance m\u00e9dicale. Les travailleurs qui ont sans doute le plus besoin de ces services sont donc ceux qui ont le moins de possibilit\u00e9s d\u2019y acc\u00e9der et qui doivent payer de leur poche les frais li\u00e9s \u00e0 leur handicap. Les d\u00e9cideurs \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents niveaux peuvent rem\u00e9dier \u00e0 cette in\u00e9galit\u00e9 en trouvant des moyens d\u2019offrir aux personnes travaillant \u00e0 la demande en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, et aux personnes vivant avec un handicap en particulier, des prestations de sant\u00e9 et une plus grande s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de revenu.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div
