Vous n\u2019en \u00eates peut-\u00eatre pas conscient, mais c\u2019est pourtant le cas. Les entreprises qui ne r\u00e9orientent pas leur culture et n\u2019adoptent pas pleinement l\u2019int\u00e9gration des personnes handicap\u00e9es resteront \u00e0 la tra\u00eene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pourquoi\u2009? Notamment, en partie, parce que le nombre de personnes handicap\u00e9es au Canada est en hausse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 l\u2019heure actuelle, environ 6,2&nbsp;millions de personnes au Canada (22&nbsp;%) ont un handicap. Ce chiffre devrait passer \u00e0 25&nbsp;% d\u2019ici 2025. Il est important de se rappeler que le \u00ab\u2009handicap\u2009\u00bb est un terme g\u00e9n\u00e9ral\u2009; le handicap est diversifi\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Les chiffres sont en hausse<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Maintenant, consid\u00e9rons ceci&nbsp;: selon une \u00e9tude du Conference Board of Canada, le nombre de personnes au Canada ayant un handicap physique seul devrait augmenter de 1,8&nbsp;% par an, pour atteindre 3,6&nbsp;millions en 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse, 30&nbsp;% de la population (soit 229\u2009430&nbsp;personnes) a au moins un handicap. C\u2019est plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 que dans toute autre province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il est donc certain que dans les prochaines ann\u00e9es, les entreprises \u00e0 travers le Canada (et pas seulement en Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse) auront plus d\u2019employ\u00e9s et de candidats \u00e0 l\u2019emploi qui ont un handicap. Les travailleuses et travailleurs auront davantage de coll\u00e8gues atteints d\u2019un handicap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il existe d\u2019autres raisons pour lesquelles l\u2019inclusion des personnes ayant un handicap est le moteur de l\u2019avenir du travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Les opportunit\u00e9s cr\u00e9\u00e9es par le t\u00e9l\u00e9travail&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Le passage au \u00ab\u2009travail depuis tout lieu\u2009\u00bb, \u00e0 mesure que les entreprises modifiaient la fa\u00e7on dont les employ\u00e9s travaillaient pendant une crise de sant\u00e9 publique mondiale, figure parmi celles-ci.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cela a cr\u00e9\u00e9 des opportunit\u00e9s d\u2019emploi, alors qu\u2019il y avait auparavant des obstacles, pour certaines personnes handicap\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Autre raison&nbsp;: les attentes du public \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des entreprises en mati\u00e8re de handicap \u00e9voluent. Et les entreprises de la Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse, les 20\u2009479 d\u2019entre elles, doivent tenir compte de leur public. La r\u00e9putation de votre marque et vos r\u00e9sultats sont en jeu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une enqu\u00eate men\u00e9e par la Fondation Angus Reid\/Rick Hansen en novembre 2021 a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que 62&nbsp;% des Canadiennes et des Canadiens seraient plus enclins \u00e0 faire affaire avec une entreprise s\u2019ils savaient que celle-ci avait des politiques sp\u00e9cifiques pour soutenir les employ\u00e9s ayant un handicap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tout cela fait partie du changement de culture. Consid\u00e9rons les adaptations&nbsp;: le terme \u00ab\u2009modifications\u2009\u00bb est plus appropri\u00e9 &#8211; comme une exception forc\u00e9e \u00e0 vos pratiques standard est une vision \u00e0 court terme\u2009; cela emp\u00eachera la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019une culture inclusive et constituera un obstacle \u00e0 la croissance et au succ\u00e8s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ne vous laissez pas accabler par les concurrents. Une \u00e9tude d\u2019Accenture a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que les entreprises ax\u00e9es sur l\u2019int\u00e9gration des personnes handicap\u00e9es augmentent leurs ventes 2,9&nbsp;fois plus vite que les autres entreprises, et leurs b\u00e9n\u00e9fices 4,1&nbsp;fois plus vite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vous ne pouvez plus \u00eatre intransigeant et dire&nbsp;: \u00ab\u2009C\u2019est comme \u00e7a qu\u2019on fait les choses.\u2009\u00bb Vous devez red\u00e9finir les mentalit\u00e9s. Pensez-y&nbsp;: \u00ab\u2009Comment pouvons-nous changer les choses pour que tous les employ\u00e9s r\u00e9ussissent\u2009?\u2009\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>L\u2019inclusion comme la norme<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour cette chronique, j\u2019ai contact\u00e9 quelques leaders du secteur des personnes handicap\u00e9es de la Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse afin d\u2019obtenir leur avis sur l\u2019inclusivit\u00e9 des entreprises de la province. Ils ont rapidement r\u00e9pondu que, dans l\u2019ensemble, les employeurs inclusifs sont rares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cela se refl\u00e8te dans le taux d\u2019emploi des personnes handicap\u00e9es en Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse (55,4&nbsp;%). C\u2019est 23,4&nbsp;% de moins que le taux pour les personnes non handicap\u00e9es &#8211; et c\u2019est moins que le taux national (59,3&nbsp;%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ne vous m\u00e9prenez pas, des progr\u00e8s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s. Il n\u2019y a pas si longtemps, dans ce pays, l\u2019inclusion des personnes handicap\u00e9es dans le monde des affaires et de l\u2019emploi se heurtait \u00e0 une forte r\u00e9sistance, principalement en raison des attitudes et des perceptions \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard du handicap. Cela n\u2019a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 pris en compte dans la planification strat\u00e9gique de l\u2019entreprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais aujourd\u2019hui, les chefs d\u2019entreprise avis\u00e9s comprennent ou commencent \u00e0 comprendre, lorsque leurs objectifs commerciaux et l\u2019inclusion des personnes handicap\u00e9es sont \u00e9troitement align\u00e9s, que l\u2019inclusion peut \u00eatre le moteur de la r\u00e9ussite commerciale future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 les progr\u00e8s r\u00e9alis\u00e9s, il reste encore beaucoup \u00e0 faire pour sensibiliser les entreprises aux handicaps et \u00e0 l\u2019inclusion, non seulement en Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse, mais \u00e0 travers le pays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La question est de savoir quand nous arriverons enfin \u00e0 un point o\u00f9 il ne sera plus n\u00e9cessaire d\u2019\u00e9duquer ou de sensibiliser. Il a fallu plus d\u2019un si\u00e8cle pour que l\u2019int\u00e9gration des personnes handicap\u00e9es soit enfin reconnue comme un facteur de changement dans l\u2019avenir du travail.
